Microtel - Dover

An outdated hotel that is in desperate need for a complete refresh. Guest room was completely dated. TV sat atop an armoire at a steep angle - unusable. No lamps. Only recessed - room was either bright or dark - no-in between. Bath is small and tight. Shower/tub area was pealing on floor and around the unit itself. Sink so tight to the wall you had to approach from an angle. Be aware the price is high too. With tax, we paid about $200. Our room had a room length mirror for a headboard - pillows ran right to the mirror. Recommend you pass on hotel if you have other options while traveling through the area.
Nice affordable stay for short visit, convenient location

Room is clean and maintained, but very dark and really bad lighting. They do not serve breakfast, but you can pick up a bag, have no idea what’s in it. Internet went out a few times, but was very good when working. Water pressure in shower is horrible (it’s always low in hotels, but this was bad) Water in shower is hot. Water is kitchenette is NOT hot. Room is spacious, but only 2 tiny drawers for clothes along with the small wardrobe. I stay here because they have rooms with the kitchenette.
Not a good representation of a Wyndham

Broken phone never fixed after reporting and management never addressed it. Smells bad and no coffee in room as advertised or breakfast. Amenities weren’t available and it wasn’t a comfortable bed or pillows.

You get what you pay for here. The CONS: Bath tub had peeling paint, towel had a stain, very little water pressure, tiny room, lots of noise from the room above us, and breakfast is a bag of water, yogurt and cookies. The PROS: The bed was super comfortable and the entire wall behind the bed was a mirror which made the room feel slightly bigger. Good storage space. Safe and refrigerator in room.
Very good value hotel

I needed a room for Firefly. Every other hotel in town was either sold out or charging exorbitant rates with 4 night minimums. I called the hotel directly to inquire about rooms and was happy to find out they had rooms for a better price than other places and didn't have a 4 night minimum. The rates were definitely higher than usual but considering it was during Firefly this was understandable. The lobby didn't give the best first impression, very bare bones with almost no furniture. The room, however, was great. It was very clean, the wifi worked well, the A/C was very powerful, the shower had good water pressure, and the beds were super comfortable. Definitely on par with a Hampton inn (and the Dover Hampton Inn wanted $319/night with a 4 night minimum). Underground parking was a definite plus. All staff I encountered were very friendly. If I ever have to stay in Dover again I will definitely return!
