Disappointing

Average hotel 3* at most. Maybe our expectations were a little high but here are a few things you need to know before booking - We booked a 1 bedroom suite with balcony and “landmark view” for New Year’s Eve plus eight day. First the pros - Good area, the metro station is a only few minutes walk. Taxi from airport a reasonable 50 AED. Our room was serviced daily. Good size fridge/ freezer provided. Good black out blinds and road noise not too bad considering the proximity of the busy road. Check in was OK, not too busy when we arrived. Nice little pool area on level 12 overlooking the city, although limited space and sun loungers. Cons - tired decor, stains on carpeting, dirty windows and glass on balcony, balcony so narrow chairs had to be turned sideways to sit, no balcony furniture provided, floor 26 is the highest floor you can expect if you book a suite, waiting for lifts is a joke as is the huge queue for breakfast, we gave up! Our landmark view was straight into a residential building so entertainment provided by people watching, no landmark to be seen, the kitchenette had absolutely nothing to cook with so don’t expect to be able to whip up a meal of any kind. This is a dry hotel, no alcohol served, although this was mentioned in the small print, hotel policies. Minimum charge of 150 AED each to go to the top restaurant even as residents which is a shame as the view from there is amazing. All in all the hotel seems to lean very heavily on it’s tallest hotel in the world status to draw in bookings but I’m sure there are many nicer hotels in Dubai which offer better value for money. Do yourself a favour and look past this one.

Love it!

Loved this hotel! The views are amazing! The breakfast is so delicious as well. The only thing that’s frustrating is getting the elevator on time. There’s only four elevators for 70 plus floors so if you need to be somewhere or have a tour, you need to leave your room ten minutes before so you can make it down on time. Other than that the hotel is a great place to stay

I didn't like that

Reviewed 6 january, 2022

I am a tourist, live near gevora hotel, and went there to ask about the payment/timing at the observation deck on the top of the gevora. I ask the concierge for the first time and didn't get clear information about that. When I ask him to repeat, he said me to go to caffe and ask them! I went there and ask a waiter or was a barista, he said he will check with his manager but that manager was busy. I waited some time and left there without getting proper information about the payment for climbing up to the observatory. I am so sad for wasting my own time. It seemed to me that concierge wanted to finish communication faster and let me go faster, just because behind me was a beautiful lady. In a word I am very sad of todays visit
