Brought my smile back!

Excellent Reservation process with Ms Jacklin and smooth check in with Karim front office. I had a previous experience which was bad with previous hotel who didn't accommodate me, Queen 2 team understood my situation and was able to compensate me with a better room and better experience not to ruin my weekend. Excellent teamwork and great hosting. Thank you

Enjoyable stay

Lovely hotel and kept it to its traditions which was beautiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We only had a standard king size room which was lovely decorated with porthole windows which had a very comfortable bed and bedding. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful I cannot comment on other meals as that was all we had there. The deck outside was very enjoyable to watch a sunset but unfortunately both nights we were there they had private functions and one evening we couldn’t use top deck and the second evening we couldn’t use the lower which was very disappointing and maybe we should have been told this when we booked. The reception staff were very helpful and we used the courtesy bus to the beach one day and Dubai Mall another which were both very enjoyable. The surrounding area is being developed and I can imagine if we stayed again in a couple of years it will make a difference for the better. My only negative point was as it was a hotel and we were there on a holiday there was no where where to sun bathe on a lounger or a pool to dip into which was a shame.

Iconic vessel, comfortable stay.

We have just had 3 nights on the QE2. Check in at the reception was smooth. Our classic room was smaller than I really expected but was clean, and a comfortable bed. We arrived on the Saturday so it was busier but by Tuesday the boat was virtually empty. We booked half board. We had two days of buffet meals which were delicious especially the desserts and the carrot cake was the best I have had. Lido restaurant was clean and as I expected with courteous staff. The third night was a menu which was uninspiring and if we had that 3 nights I would have been disappointed. We did the ship tour with Craig which was entertaining. They also opened a mini museum the day before we checked out. We did get lost on the boat several times. We used the courtesy bus to La Mer but there really wasn’t much there so got a taxi back. We needed to use taxis when going out and about. Once off the boat there is really nowhere close by to promenade. They are clearly developing the area around the boat. It was disappointing that there is no outdoor pool area or sunbeds to relax during the day. We did sit on deck having evening drinks but this doesn’t open until later in the day. We had a drink in The Golden Lion, I did ask if they could put a particular game of football love from the IK but staff advised they were only allowed to have the channel showing. It is clearly an iconic vessel with a lot of great history which we thoroughly enjoyed but feel a pool and relaxation areas on deck are needed. Overall an enjoyable stay.

The Gravy Boat

Reviewed 20 march, 2023

Did the tour of ship and had lunch in the Lido. The hour long tour was excellent with Craig as our guide. He was very informative without being dull and injected some humour. Even though I remember the launch of the ship lots of facts and stories unknown to me. It is a classic icon of the 1960’s. Lunch was very relaxed and tasty. Although we had to dig the staff in the ribs to provide gravy for the roast dinner which had been forgotten. Quickly provided though with a smile. A well run restaurant with staff eager to please

The receptionist call shrouq has charged us twice for the room when confronted she did not accept the mistake rather she blamed us. And the reception not informed us of any facilities or sight seeing of the ship. Recommend to have games room as they aren't any activities.
