Cold Shower

Reviewed 20 january, 2022

We are a retired couple in our late 50s looking to spend a short break in Durham. The hotel was a good price and I’m a good location. The parking is via a non Premier Inn car park next to the hotel. It cost just over £8 for 24 hours. The hotel was generally good and a standard newish Premier Inn. The lobby area smells of cooked food every time they cook something. We didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel although it was available. There is a Witherspoons 100 yards away. The hotel is conveniently located for everything in Durham City centre. The hotel was very conveniently priced and was generally full of business people. The only real problem was we ended up with a cold shower as they said one of their boilers was out of service. I’d recommend it to people looking for a budget hotel in the city centre.

The desk staffcwere good and helpful. Room was well presented. Free wifi a bit haphazard. Better onecavailable at cost. Good location for walk around sights and city centre. Plenty of eateries and historical places lije cathederal and castle.

A very good city centre break

The staff were warm and welcoming when ever we met them. The hotel was very centrally placed and we could walk easily into the City centre. Breakfast was very good with a good range of tasty options. The adjacent city car park was right next to the hotel.

If you avoid the ground floor, a very good hotel.

I have stayed here a few times now, and the experience has always been excellent. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. They are also secure. The staff are also friendly, efficient, and hard working, and very approachable. The location is excellent. Minutes from excellent bars and restaurants. And a ten to fifteen minute walk from the train station. The only thing I am not keen on is the ground floor rooms. They are far less quiet and private. If you can avoid them, you have a very good hotel room.

Fantastic, very central hotel!!

Stayed here for a night while returning my son to university. The location of this hotel is perfect! It’s closer to the centre than it looks on the map - literally a three minute walk to the market area and less than ten minutes slow stroll to the cathedral. Loved it! Warm reception, fantastic room, comfy bed and quiet with nespresso coffee machine and a lovely warm rainfall style shower! Wi-Fi was brilliant! Didn’t go for the breakfast sadly as I ate too much the night before. Very handy car park right behind the hotel - just follow your sat nav as you drive under a bypass to get there. Very cheap - about £8 for 24 hours thanks to reception voucher. Overall - A superb place to stay! Value for money - why look elsewhere? I will be back for sure! Jon :)
