"To forget" Arrived nice looking place. Checked in, was told stairs are round the corner & our room was on the top floor. Was then told theres no lift. 70 steps later with baggage we got to the room. Very small room, bed was like a trampoline, window banged in the wind all the time, TV remote didnt work, ensuite was tiny, shower was extremley small no room to bend over & was your feet. Shower sliding door very tight to get in & out of the shower. The restaurant was closed & no cooked breakfast available. Would advised anyone who is not a fitness fanatic or likes a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day to steer clear.

Booking cancelled only 6 days in advance, due to being “closed for maintenance” - as though you could arrange contractors at such short notice on 2 January! Unbelievably poor organisation and communications!

My friends & I have stayed at the Place twice this year and agree it’s our favourite spot for staying over in Edinburgh. It’s close to loads of main Edinburgh attractions, including St James Quarter, The Playhouse, Princes St, St Andrew Square etc. The rooms we have stayed in are very spacious and well equipped, including Smart Tv’s, couches and plenty of mirror space to get ready. Staff are very friendly and helpful, always willing to go the extra mile. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Great hotel for a city break

Lovely boutique hotel, in a central location. Wonderfully welcoming and helpful staff, who went our of their way for us during our short stay. Very spacious and comfortable room with a pristine bathroom. Great hotel for a city break because it's within walking distance of all of the city attractions.

The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The room is quite big and very clean. Even though it is located in the city center, it is very quiet. The location is great. It is located in New town, close to St.Andrew square and Calton Hill. I really recommend staying at this hotel.
