Pleasant surprise
I booked this for a last min get away and so got a really good deal. Not sure if I would have felt as positive if I had paid top dollar high season price. However, at the time I booked the reviews on here were generally pretty negative. I remember thinking: what sort of places do these people stay in? This was absolutely fine and actually quite nice. I went for a long weekend so didn't get a chance to get bored of the food and was blown away by the variety and the quality was fine. Plus the serving staff are super friendly - particularly if you make the slightest effort to speak even a tiny bit of Spanish. There were quite a lot of rude Germans staying when I was there so think I made a nice change. Rooms are small, but in this sort of place you're only using it to sleep. I had hired a bicycle as was using it as a base for warm weather training and the hotel staff were very accomodating and didn't bat an eye lid as I walked it along the marble corridors to / from my room. Arenal is what is is: the German Magaluf, so expect lots of drunk Germans on the beach and take ear plugs. But the hotel itself was lovely and v convenient for the airport. NB I actually stayed here in Sept 2018 and have been meaning to write ever since, but had never got round to it
All exclusive and best lunch
A better hotel at this location, with impeccable service and a rich buffet.View of the pool or the street. 500 m from the beach.Buses to La Palma city every 10 min. There is no uber and the taxi is overpriced. Motorbike rental is next to the hotel.
Ipanema Park
We booked to stay in Ipanema Beach because it had a pool in the Sun and room view was better. Unfortunately when we arrived our group of 14 were told that our rooms were at the Ipanema Park. We were allowed to use the other pool as the hotels are opposite one another but I did expect to stay in the hotel that we booked. Hotel and staff were great and we had a lovely stay but the room view was staring into someone else's apartment.
Lovely Stay
The hotel was lovely, the room very clean and towels changed daily. The staff were helpful and friendly. As we had a late flight home on the Sunday we were able to pay a little extra and have the hotel room late, which was great. The only minus was the wifi, we were happy to pay for it whilst we were there but it wasn't the strongest connection which was disappointing.
Great Hotel!
This hotel was really excellent and suited us perfectly for our stay. We managed to check in a little bit early which was fantastic, and when we walked into the room we were both really happy. It was SPOTLESS, beautifully decorated, had a lovely balcony, and plenty room for all our luggage, etc. We had a balcony on the bottom floor which was amazing because we could sit outside and people watch but still be in our own space. The air conditioning worked perfectly! Absolutely no complaints! We paid for our breakfasts when we booked the hotel, and they were really good. It worked as a buffet style system and had a huge variety of things, from pastries to sausages to eggs to fruit to bread - definitely worth it to set you up for the day. We also got dinner twice when we were there which was also excellent and had a range of salad items, paella, pasta, meat, fruits and cake. Very good! The staff in the dining room were friendly. The hotel bar provided a vast range of cocktails and snacks.The pool was a little chilly when you first got in, but so pleasant. It's also very deep. It costs extra to use the safe, and to get the wifi but we thought these things were well worth it. One small criticism was that the walls were very thin and we had a very very loud singer next door which woke us up at various points though the night and early morning. Reception staff were not very friendly but all the other staff were. All in all, this is an excellent hotel, and I would definitely recommend!!
