They say this is a 5 star hotel. I would give it a solid 3 stars (I don't mean that in a bad way -- just know what you're getting into). Service was generally pretty poor. They seem very short staffed and were not helpful when we asked repeatedly about doing a "spa tour" that was advertised, but no one knew what we were talking about. They were not super helpful when we had questions. At one point we asked for extra pillows, and they never came. The room is also quite outdated (again, that's fine as long as you know what you're getting into). For the money, I would stay elsewhere. Luckily, we also booked rooms at Los Ponchos. I will write a different review, but I would stay at Los Ponchos if you're looking for a nicer hotel with better service (and closer to town). The service there was OUTSTANDING. No, it doesn't have a spa, but I would still pick Los Ponchos over Imago.

Good room but some areas to improve

5 minutes outside the centre with a shuttle bus that works well. Good views of the lake but the hotel is somewhat dated and trapped in the 80s. Breakfast was the worst in our three week trip. Canned fruit, poor coffee and limited choice, overdone eggs. Simply not good enough for a hotel like this. Staff helpful and the place is clean

Nice small hotel.

The room was big and comfortable with a very nice view of the lake. The staff is ok but not very helpful. Breakfast was poor. The amount of food is not enough. The staff of the restaurant was never there to refill the buffet bowls, they never took away the dirty dishes, they just don't care... The hotel is located 10 minutes away from town, but there is a free shuttle service every hour.

3 stars is generous . Poor value for money but helpful staff

Very dated , old fashioned hotel located outside the central area of el Calafate . Breakfast was the worse we have had in years since it only offered cold food full of sugar . The basic protein on offer was poor but better than nothing . Shuttle service to town was good & the staff which is why I gave it 3 stars . It felt like being in an old hotel from the 70s in Italy but without the great food . Our agent ( Audley ) Booked j’y telling is it was the best which is shocking . We found many more other options once we were in el Calafate which has a great choice of accommodation .

Comfortable stay with a great spa

Very nice, spacious and comfortable rooms, and the most important - very silent to provide a good sleep. The free transfers to the center of El Calafate were very useful, and the staff that implemented them - very kind. The warm swimming pool was a place we were in a hurry to go after the daily tours to Perito Moreno and other glaciers in the region. Perhaps it should be open until 10:30 or 11 pm, not only to 9 pm, because if the guests are back to the hotel at 7:30-8 pm from a tour, there is not enough time to use the spa center.
