More about the hotel
Noisy location
This hotel is a 15 minute walk to town. Part of this includes a dirt road with no street light. Not the best place for a single female such as myself. It is close to a metal bridge on a busy road which rattles loudly every time a vehicle drives over it. Ongoing noise 24/7 Amenities are basic. No A/C No shuttle to town. No meals other breakfast offered. Be prepared to do a 45 minute walk to get food and water. Staff not helpful.
Good clean comfortable place to stay
Service was good, rooms were really clean, breakfast was good with a variety of things to try, including Argentine pastries and croissants, eggs, fruit, tea coffee and more. It is about a 7 minute walk from the el centro, and all of our activities were able to pick us up at the hotel. The only complaint I have is that it was really close to a metal bridge that makes a pretty loud sound every time a car goes over it, sounds like thunder.
Three days in Calafate
The hotel is less than comfortable. the bedroom has neither air conditioning nor fan and the sun hits on the window all the long afternoon making difficult to stay in the room. No fridge and the safe is quite small. Breakfast is acceptable but need to claim frequently to get a plate or a knife because most of the time they lack where they should be. Personnel is not customer oriented.
did not like this place
we got stuck here for a night since it was the only place with rooms. out of town, cannot walk in, must drive. down a dirt road that looked like a construction site. the room was very dirty, very old and we had absolutely no hot water in the shower, it was broken, the knobs on the doors, shower etc....yuk.....glad it was only 1 night.....
OK but a bit far from the center
Hotel is OK, bad coffee at breakfast. Bit too far from city centre, longer than a nice stroll.... There were a couple of power shortages when we were there but nothing major. A friendly cat shows up just outside of the main door in the evening to ask for some food :)
