Too many little negatives

Upon check-in, I had to wait a very long time as there was no one at the desk only to find out that the desk clerk was apparently on a personal phone call that continued through my check-in when he finally appeared. I finally get checked-in and given my room key and when I got to the room, there was an empty bag of food in the room, the bed was not made up and a half-filled cup of coffee was present as the room had never been serviced so I had to go back to the front desk and request another room. I now get to the room and discover when I was about to take a shower, the hand wash towel had brown spots on it (see photo). So then the next morning at breakfast, and it was in the middle of the breakfast hours, there was no regular coffee nor any sugar, and no one did anything about it. I can see if it was around the time breakfast would be ending but it wasn't. There were just too many little negatives that took away from my stay at the hotel.


Not up to standard for an IHG hotel

Traveled to Elkhart for the Notre Dame football game. I always stay in IHG hotels and this hotel was one of my least favorite. The hotel was unappealing. To begin the trash outside was overflowing. When we got there to check in I handed staff my ID and credit card out of habit and they didn't seem interested in verifying either of these things just asked my name for the reservation. There were 5 of us staying the in the 2 bedroom suite. Upon checking in I asked for extra bath towels for the morning (I assumed a 2 bedroom suite that could sleep so many people would be equipped with enough towels for atleast 1 shower each). We get to the room and there were stains all over the carpet, the bathroom sink was cracked, 2 bath towels in the bathroom, no extra toilet paper and there was food left in the fridge from the guest before us. Later on we went back to the front desk to get more towels for the morning and were given pool towels because they were out of clean bath towels. Overall I would not recommend staying here

We attended for a 4 day sporting event with our family. Our shower was dirty and there was urine on the toilet seat . Someone spilled a drink in and right outside the elevator. It took hours for anyone to clean it up even though it was steps from th front desk. In the meantime it was tracked everywhere and our shoes were sticky. We eventually called to ask if someone was going to clean it up and the response was "I just got here at 3" was 8pm at this point.


Good & Bad Service / Housekeeping Nightmare

Reserved 1st room 3 nights (Fri-Sat-Sun), 2nd room 1 night (Sat). Received call that the pool was closed for maintenance 2 days prior, asked about both rooms on the same floor, & was told to call back next day. I called the next day & spoke with Tonaya, requesting 3rd floor for both rooms. She was very accommodating & nice. She gave me the 2 rm. nos. on the 3rd floor. Good location & easy to find & ck-in. 1st room was okay. Quiet, Lg Rm, Blackout blinds, Lg luggage rack, Tub w/splash guards, great water pressure, vent in bathroom. One mattress pad was stained with urine. There was an odor down the hall. Breakfast was poor. Next morning ck’ed-in 2nd rm w/Tonaya & she informed housekeeping (standing there in frt. of me) to have the 2nd rm ready for the night. At 4:15 PM I received a call from DAVONTA that our reservation for 2nd rm was CANCELLED and there were NO ROOMS available. I told him I had already ck’ed with Tonaya that AM & the 2nd rm better be ready & he said he had to call his Manager & would call me back. At 4:25 he called back & told me he would change the sheets, but the rm wouldn’t be cleaned to my liking. I went back to the hotel & got the keys for the 2nd rm & he gave me towels. I cleaned the rm myself with what I had. But both beds were disgusting, both Mattress pads & Duvets, had urine & other stains & odors. Pillow cases & sheets dirty. Didn’t receive clean bedding until 11pm or so & had to put them on the beds ourselves. Breakfast was poor. Refrigerator needs to be replaced, as it will not keep things cold. Milk sour & water warm. So ??? WHERE WAS THE MANAGER??? Why didn’t he come in to help correct the issues? If you don't have enough staff to do the job, only reserve the amount of rooms you can handle.


Possibly worst Holiday Inn Express we’ve ever stayed at

I want to start by saying the IHG line is our go to lodging. We’ve stayed at MANY Holiday Inn Express locations over the years and this is the worst one we’ve ever stayed at. We booked the 2 room suite. We had 2 queens and 1 king. Pros: Large 2 room suite with 3 beds 2 air conditioning units Good water pressure Cons: Only 2 towels given. (with the size of the room, you would think they’d understand you need more towels) Only about a 1/4th of a roll of TP. No replacement rolls left Only 1 coffee cup Only 1 sugar packet that was already open No hair dryer Bathroom door would not latch Bathroom sink cracked Power outlet at bed ripped off the wall. Not able to charge any devise Walls all scratched up and drywall chunks on the floor Stains on all of the carpet Pool closed No vending and the pantry at the front desk empty. No water, drinks or snacks Breakfast very limited and nothing refilled if it ran out Grime on the floor at the elevator We are honestly so disappointed in this location. IHG is a good line and this location does not represent them in a good light. I feel management needs to step in and help get this place turned around because it could have so much potential. So if you are looking for lodging where you don’t have to contact the front desk for missing basics and you want to be able to close and latch the bathroom door for simple privacy, pick a different location.
