Parking lot and entrance felt like a slum
Reviewed 14 june, 2021
This is a very average roadside Holiday Inn Express that gets the job done for a sleep. However, getting here makes one question their choice of hotel accommodation. For starters, there is NO SIGN on the main road. The only entrance is through a dirty parking lot of a shuttered restaurant. When I pulled in there were people and cars loitering in the parking lot of this closed restaurant. It looked and felt like a slum. The hotel itself is mostly clean and was renovated a few years ago. Some areas like walls are scuffed and starting to show wear-and-year. There was also some black spots on the ceiling that looked like mold or mildew. The elevator also looked and felt pretty old. A fresh coat of paint might make the difference. Be advised that the business center is closed because of covid, the gym is closed because of covid, and the breakfast is basically cereal, yogurt, and frozen sandwiches on par with what you can get at the gas station in front of the hotel. Overall, this was fine for a night but some people may be uncomfortable by the entrance or disappointed in the wear-and-tear.
It's a Holiday Inn

Good precautions for Covid - maybe too good. I dislike having to go down to the office for cups. Since the cups are wrapped anyway, why not leave 2 in the room? The guest has to unwrap them anyways. And, asking customers to wipe the pour handle on the coffee machine seems a little over the top. Otherwise, the room was typical HI. I DO hate the need to pull out the "desk" which is lower than the shelf above it, but that's just me. The room was clean and properly appointed. One real annoyance was the bathroom and shower, which had no air circulation. If one takes a hot shower, the mirror is fogged for at least a half hour. No ventilation fan in the ceiling. Staff was friendly and the breakfast had a good selection of choices - for Covid.

My question is this. Please explain to me just how closely these rooms are being checked for cleanliness when the following were allissing from the room and no one seemed to notice: No towels No plastic cups No toiletries I understand it's Covid. I work in it every day. You need to understand that there are TONS of choices out there. Especially right now.
Carona Virus - An Good Excuse to Do Nothing

Very disappointed with our stay. No maid service- if we want fresh towels, we should come down to the desk and ask. Lobby looked as if they were preparing to refinish the floors - tables pushed against one wall and chairs had been removed. Breakfast buffet and pancake machine were still there but with no food. Too dangerous to have coffee and push a button for a pancake?? Breakfast was boxes of cereal, dry muffins sealed in plastic, yogurt and containers of milk. All laid out on a table for everyone to breathe on and a refrigerator that everyone touched. Ask for coffee “cups” at the desk and take everything upstairs - make your own coffee and sit on the bed to eat. Restaurants in Corning offered inside and outside dining. They have progressed way past “take our” whole still remaining safe. Everyone is doing their best to stay safe, but Holiday Inn is, we believe, using the virus as an excuse to do almost nothing for its guests!
Average accommodations but better priced

Business brought e to ainted Post, a small communit outide of Corning and not much to offer to travelers. I lookd on line at other psots and like this one all were on or close to a major highway but this one seemd like it might be quieter as a bit outside of the hub. My assumption of quiet was in error so Icranked up the aac to provide a wjite noise so I could sleep. Breakfats was what one would expect. Staff was friendly and room was quite clean, bed was fine. That said, I always hoe to get a reasonable sleep so I am ready for the business work in the morning and that was not the case with this stay. Not the fault of staff, just placement (and note it is easy to miss is it is hidden back behind a Denny's restaurant).
