Ok product, operations needs much improvement
Reviewed 28 july, 2020
Breakfast far from reality of posted pictures. And for 12.50 EUR it’s absolutely a rip off. All you get below in pictures. Rooms are nice and modern, the size didn’t bother me, but at 11 night, AC hasn’t worked a single day and unable to fix or even admit it’s not working. Even after room move. Few room cleaning days were missed and soaps in shower and sink have been empty for about 4 days and had to complain about it to get new soap. The hotel product is good, operations needs improvements! Even for a city hipster hotel. I do love that they have a filtered water station; rare in Europe.

Einzigartiges Konzept, motivierte Mitarbeiter, angenehme Atmosphäre

It was my 2nd stay at "the niu Cobbles" and I was impressed again how nice and lovely everything is made. Unique design elements (design concept is hostel-style) and super motivated, young employees made my stay unforgettable good. Custom made decoration elements combine the hostel-style with that local vibes and history of the city as cole mining spot. The rooms are a bit small but good equipped and very clean. My only wish for the rooms: a coffee machine :-) The bar and the restaurant are places to stay: fine drinks and good food, lovely music and cozy furniture. The menu is short but contains nice dishes, prepared by the F&B manager himself (no joke). And this shows why I felt like being part of a family and not being guest in any design-hotel group. Highly recommend this place!!!

Comfy beds but small poorly designed room
Reviewed 30 october, 2019
The hotel was nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and there was a spacious shower cubicle with a good power shower. However the room was small, the website photos are creatively taken; there is very little storage with no drawers and only a small closet area. We had breakfast on 2 days, the food was nice and fresh and plentiful. The staff were very nice and friendly and super helpful.

Not an option for business travel

Clearly this hotel is the result of a committee of hipsters. The rooms are poorly designed with no chair or desk. A bean bag is a trip hazard in a room so dark that it is difficult to navigate around. It took a while to find the wardrobe and a while longer to work why there are handles on the bedside tables but no functioning drawer. The rooms are dusty and feel under cleaned. Beds are two singles with two single duvets. Bathroom is a good size but has a few quirks which are inexplicable. Breakfast is good but the music piped into the room is a nightmare... Jazz, Trance and Morrissey at breakfast... really! And the price...... 204 Eur / night... wow. Staff were great. Unfortunately I would not return by choice.

I chose this hotel because I love modern and new designs . I did not try the breakfast but the food was really nice the rooms were clean . The hotel is pretty easy taxes is 20 minutes walk from Central Station away . In about half an hour text drive from the airport .
