Great location, this hotel is well placed for the monuments of Evora and town centre. There is plenty of parking next to the hotel. There was a good selection at the buffet breakfast, clean and safe rules being adhered too. The room had its own terrace and looked out onto the swimming pool opposite the bar, no traffic noise, or noise from the bar. The room was very clean with aircon. Would highly recommend.

The hotel Dom Fernando is very good location and just few minutes to Cathedral and Romans temple. Al monuments are close to hotel. The train station and bus terminal all reach by foot within 10 minutes. The room is big and breakfast is delicious. The hotel there is nice swim pool and Bar. Great location, easy to walkto centrun and free parking. The room was clean and nice but a bit outdated. Good vale for the price. Nice breakfast buffet but the staff could be more gentle. Breakfast was included in our room rate, we had booked it as a package. The staff however brought us the invoice. We went to explain it but they said it was not included and didn't believe us. I ask them to get in contact the reception. They phoned to reception but didn't come to tell us that the invoice was groundless. We should go to them to ask it and they told that we need not to pay it because it was made a mistake at the reception. They didn't apologize it at all. On the following morning when we enjoyed our breakfast they brought us again the invoice and the same again. And no apologies once again. This was our second visit and overnight of two nights at this hotel but unfortunately on the next time we are going to choose the other hotel. The receptionist at our arrival to the hotel was very friendly and helpful.

Not the first time at this 3 star hotel. Still a 3 star hotel because it does not have Aircon in the living room. We booked 13 nights for Xmas and New Year's Eve 2020. It is a good hotel, the shape is very welcoming because all rooms face the big pool located in the middle of the outside garden. This hotel has the shape of a monastery with a kind of a cloister surrounding the pool area. The rooms are spread all over the squared building and up to 3 floors only. We stayed in a Double Room on the second floor, on the left wing which is very nice in the mornings with the sun heating up the corridors and the rooms!!! Rooms are large with plenty of space to keep the luggages open. Despite the furniture being a little bit out of modern, the real thing is that the room is provided with good amenities like a good hairdryer, shampoo, bath gel, fridge, safe box and a big balcony well furnished. Bathroom is large. Instead of the bathtub, there is a very large shower base. Attention to anyone with allergies: there is no duvets, they only use the blankets (old style, and I'm not that sure whether they clean them up on a regular basis). But! The Housekeeping Service is super good! All staff are women and they are all very polite, very talkative with us, very professional with our requests. They never ever failed anything. They are a plus here, they really give more points to this hotel. Although, they don't provide the room with a kettle nor tea bags or coffee... about the foods. Breakfast is average. And I explain: most of the products are not healthy options and the hot foods are cooked with lots of margarine and oil, such as the scrambled eggs...they cook the eggs with so much margarine (i was informed by the staff they use Vaqueiro Margarine). The mushrooms are cooked with lots of olive oil (even being a good fat, it turns out to have a nauseating flavor...). The daily cakes are not baked in their kitchen (are processed..). Only during the Xmas period the portuguese Xmas sweets were cooked in the hotel's kitchen. No fresh fruit juices, only chemical/powder juices in the machine. Yoghurts but no fresh milk! Milk is provided by the coffee machine (and don't forget that this milk is hiding a big quantity of sugar. ..). Fried sausages, fried bacon, fried sweets,...well, the variety of fresh fruits is the best part of the breakfast of this hotel. Only white sugar, no brown sugar. We noticed that there most of the days there were only 2 staff working during the Breakfast time: not enough for a fully booked hotel....so much of the work is not done at the time. Staff don't free the plates from the tables so sometimes we had the dishes pilled in a pyramid. Breakfast is served from 7h to 10h30. At 10h30 staff start to take the foods out of the buffet in a hurry and I don't think that it's a polite way to do the job as I saw them simply throwing the bowls of sugar, butter, tea bags, etc to the cabinets under the buffet cabinets. Many times Staff seemed not happy nor liking to do their job, always running in the room with no time for working at a "normal speed". And there's also a reason for this rush: the hotel practices lunch time from 12h or 12h30. Many times, even with some guests in the room eating, they were putting the foods for lunch on the buffet. Dinner: the foods are good but many of the salads/cold foods are the same of the day before. They only change the main foods in a daily basis, not the side foods. So, the variety is relative. You notice that if you stay more than 6 days. STAFF : All members are very polite and nice. But some need to be better trained. Answers like this one (during the breakfast and when the Chef has already cooked and is preparing the lunch) "sorry, we don't have rice" - when they have/cook rice everyday in every lunch and dinner...or another answer like this one, when I called the reception to provide me with soap because it had finished the day before:"Hello, could you please call the Housekeeping staff to bring me now some b please?"(it was 1.30pm) and the magical answer: "The Housekeeping will be made until 6pm". Ok... Nevertheless, Staff are very polite at the reception. I must say thanks to all espeacially to Rita that is one of the best there. As the major room of the hotel is not very comfortable in winter in terms of temperature, the games that are available, such as the snooker, should not be payed. One suggestion to the General Manager: please request the construction of a little strip in the thoroughfare next to the hotel that goes to the Railway Station. Otherwise, please think about the guests that carry luggage and go walking to the railway station...there are no flat roads! Should think about that because hotels play an important role in the city and you can make changes with the townhall. We and many more would be very much appreciated if there were options of road where we could transport our luggage easily.
Great for short stays

This hotel is a surprise once you walk through the doors. Well designed and spacious, the rooms are set in a square around a central garden and pool. The room was clean and spacious enough to be able to stretch out. Breakfast was abundant. Dinner was a buffet with an exceptional selection of soups, mains and desserts.
