Nice place with potencial

Whem we arrived they gave us a room That was dirty, full of dust, stains and even strange líquid in one of the Walls. It was imediatly changed by the staff. However, this seems the problem of this hotel. The personnel is not into it. The acommodations are pretty good and confortable, the pool is spectacular but, the arquitecture is finne but is missing passion and the drive of making everything very good. For example, there is no bar service at the pool, wich is a pitty.
3 day stay with a sewer smell
Reviewed 24 august, 2020
There was a terrible sewage smell due to a faulty irrigation. This problem was obviously already around for several weeks attending to the growth of the vegetation around the affected area. The kitchen was missing several things for a 4 member family (which we had to ask for) and the apartment is clearly too small for 4 people. The apartament also smelled of moisture and had a sewer smell coming from the bathroom. When we entered the room we encountered the room full of mosquitoes and killed around 15 of them. The staff told us that it was something they could not control but in the 3 days we stayed there we only had one mosquito coming in. We are very disappointed and will not return. Not advisable for families with children.

We stayed here for one night during a two week trip around Portugal. We had been really looking forward to our stay but were really disappointed. The rooms were nice and spacious but several little things like towel rails hanging off the wall and broken floor tiles are not really acceptable in a 5 star resort. We couldn’t get a table in the restaurant for an evening meal due to covid restrictions so had to drive to Évora. When we returned at 11.15 the extra bed for our son had not been made up.It was eventually done at midnight!! Breakfast was a disaster served by unfriendly staff who were not wearing gloves. The pool area is nice but unfortunately if you arrive after 10.30am it’s impossible to find a deck chair as most have been reserved by other guests who just leave their towels and come when it suits them. The food and drink is overpriced at the pool bar.We were given plastic stirrers for our coffee...what is eco about that? We made all our complaints to management before we left but I’m not sure if it was taken very seriously.I would definitely not recommend this place. It is much too expensive for the service it provides.
A peaceful nothingness

Positive aspects: It's literally as quiet as it gets here. It's in the middle of nature where all you can hear are the crickets at night, the birds chirping during the day, and the sound of cow bells at a distance. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean (despite some insects in the room) and the bed was very comfy after a long drive. Each suite allows for privacy and barely any noise. In the main building, through the outdoor staircase, you'll head up towards a long pool with a stunning view. Negative aspects: From the minute you see the signs of the hotel, you still have to drive an additional 2km and there are no other signs saying to go straight on. Also, there is very poor lighting throughout. If you arrive at night, you won't understand where you can park and walking to your suite/room might be a bit scary. We asked for the "Honeymoon Pack" yet all we got in our room were 4 very tasteless chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of sparkling Rose. I had seen pictures of rose petals and swan-shaped towels on the bed, yet I guess we didn't qualify for that... We also expected the staff to be friendlier but were most of the time too serious. Since it was only a 2-night stay, we asked that they not clean our room nor change the towels. However, they did, which we didn't consider too eco-friendly on their behalf. Breakfast could've had a better variety and more options. In the pool area there could've been some music playing, we did see the speakers there but no music was playing.
Perfect countryside stay

If you're looking to visit Évora and have a car, this is the ideal place to stay if you prefer peace and quiet. This hotel is in an idyllic countryside location, just a few minutes' drive from the centre of Évora. The hotel consists of a main building, which houses the bar, restaurant, spa, indoor and outdoor pools, gym and lounges and the rooms (all suites, with living room, bathroom and private terrace) are spread out across the property. This means that you may have to walk a bit to get to and from the main building, which is fine if it isn't raining or too cold. The room decor is cosy yet minimalistic, as you would expect in an eco-resort - super comfortable bed, whitewashed walls, tiled flooring. Air conditioning and television sets in both room and living room. Bathroom has basic amenities only - shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and soap, and shower cap. There is a blow drier. No hand held shower, only ceiling shower. Two chairs on the private terrace, perfect to sit outside and read in the winter sun. There is a coffee and tea machine with four coffee capsules and two tea capsules, and there is a complimentary bottle of water provided on arrival. Any extra capsules or water bottles ordered are charged. Breakfast buffet selection is great. Good coffee, great bread and croissants, homemade jams, fresh fruit, eggs, cheese, the usual you would expect. Restaurant staff is really friendly and do everything to please. They remember your orders and check if you want the same the next day. For swimming in the indoor pool, swimming cap and slippers are required, so take some along with you, or else, you will be forced to buy them. The indoor pool is large, but only mildly warm. It can get busy, especially during weekends. My husband and I both had massages, which were absolutely brilliant. Definitely worthwhile, as the prices are inviting and the staff extremely professional, friendly and efficient. There is plenty of parking. There is a Tesla charger and other chargers for electric cars. Look out for the friendly resident donkey!
