I travel for work all the time this must be the worst hotel in the world, I should of chose a hotel not employed by idiots . I had a reservation it was paid for and since they are untrained I was charges 2 times for the room you have to wait for a manager to come the next day

The attendant at the desk for check-in was pleasant and efficient. When I got to my room and tried the two extra locks for security, neither one worked. The door was not lined up properly and the deadbolt didn't fit in the receptor. At one point I smelled marijuana coming through a vent in my room. The next morning I could smell bacon when I woke up and felt excited for the advertised hot breakfast (7-10am). I went downstairs at 7:45, and the only items available were a handful of blueberry bagels and coffee - even the juice was off. People were gathering downstairs and waiting for the food to be served. I came back downstairs around 8:30am to check out. The attendant was not wearing a mask, despite the sign on the door indicating it is state law. There was also still no other food set out. I felt very disappointed by my stay and will not be booking here again.

The first room I was assigned smelled so bad I could not tolerate it. The smell of mold was evident upon opening the door and then worse lay in store within. I asked for a different room (1st time I have ever done this) and they were very good about giving me a different one. The 2nd room was better, but still had an odd smell, and the view was of garbage and fencing. The hotel is very worn and patched, but that is not a huge issue for me. The staff was friendly and breakfast was good, and the location is also very good, especially if you are planning to explore the Aviation Trail. So balancing it out, I give it a 3.

Least favorite stay during 14 day midwest USA road trip

Chose the Clarion Hotel since is was somewhat reasonably priced and located near the US Air Force Museum and Dayton Aviation Museum. Comparing this hotel to all the other hotels during our 14 day road trip my hubby and I thought this hotel was our least favorite. The indoor pool was unsuitable for swimming, our room was just okay but had a slightly unpleasant smell plus the window was open and couldn't be closed. I went to the front desk and a nice man finally got the window to close after quite a hassle. As other reviewers noted the crowded lobby and hallways needed renovations. We stayed for two nights which cost us $250, not unreasonable but more than we had paid on a nightly basis even for a 1 bedroom suite at a Staybridge Suites. Since many of the neighboring hotels were either sold out or offered higher nightly rates, we felt compelled to book this hotel during our stay. If we were to return to Dayton I would not stay here again.

Now, first off, I prefer hotels that are a little more upscale and I can afford it, but everything was booked. This is not the place for me. It needs to be desperately renovated. I want to be clear that it was not dirty on the surface. Carpets needed to be completely replaced, bed coverlet was all snagged, the smoke detector was dangling from the wall. The worst, thing, however was the air conditioning unit. There was something seriously wrong with it. And, to top it off, I suspect it was crawling with mold. When we woke up, my husband had shut it off in the middle of the night and he was coughing so badly that when he woke up, he couldn't speak. We high tailed it out of there in the morning without looking back. I do not like to leave bad reviews, but this was bad and quite frankly, we deserve our money back.
