Spa in beautiful, historic setting with modern touch

We came here with modest expectations. Our experiences from visits in Spa-facilities consists of a blend of too much food, nasty-tasting water, treatments based on old and mysterious beliefs, pride in something that once was but is no longer. Mösseberg is the updated and fresh opposite. Yes, the dining room is from 186x but the food is contemporary and excellent. Yes, there is a Spa but it has all what you can wish of a modern relax-facility. Yes, the rooms are set in an 18-hundreds building but it fits into the concept. Add the beauty of the plateau-mountain Mösseberg, the surrounding landscape and you will most certainly find your way back for a second visit.

This is a quaint and pretty hotel. I only stayed for one night, but the staff was very friendly and helpful (except for a lady in the dinner dining room who made us sit in another room for no apparent reason) The rooms are small, but so cute in how they are decorated. The balconies are nice as well. The bed was very comfortable. We couldn't stay for breakfast, but they were nice enough to make breakfast bags to take with us because we were missing the meal. The dinner buffet was included in our price and was very good. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed in a room in the annex. The price of the room, 1500kr for one night, was much too high for a room of that standard unfortunately. It was clean and cosy and had all the amenities but it needs sprucing up. For that price entrance to the spa should be included at least. However, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel staff was very nice as well. The hotel is in a lovely location, right at the foot of Mösseberg recreational area, a must visit if in Falköping. I would stay here again if the price was reduced.

Tired old hotel. Rooms are large but tired as well. No air conditioning, and leaving the windows open invited mosquitos but also moths (all over the bathroom towels). Housekeeping is poor, nobody cleaned up the dead moths in the bathroom. Overall, not impressed at all.

Our main reason for selecting this hotel was the location meaning a 7 minute drive to Falköbing Alpin, the local ski resort. We stayed 2 adults and 2 children for 4 nights in a double room with extra beds. The room was nice and clean although not huge. Other reviews have mentioned issues with the food and service but we had excellent meals and extremely friendly, smiling and flexible waiters. A fairly large breakfast buffet and a fixed menu for dinner was included but we had no problems replacing the set kids menu with other courses as the kids menu was the usual choice between burger and hotdog. We also included full access to the spa which was very nice, in particular the outside hot tubs in the snow were popular with the kids. Otherwise the indoor small pool, sauna, steam bath and general relaxation area was newly refurbished and pleasant. A bit overcrowded at times. We tried out a few massage treatments as well including for the kids which were inexpensive and the massage therapists were friendly and competent. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we will probably return.
