Horrendous Experience--A Filthy Hotel at a Premium Price

Our stay here was a shocking experience. We have to travel a lot for work, and we're HHonors members. We have a lot of experience with travel and hotels, and go with an upper level of hotel because we feel fresher and cleaner for work. We had one VERY bad experience at a Homewood Suites in Nashville, TN this summer, but this stay was nearly as bad. We arrived on the night of 10/27/21, and we're booked into room 244 automatically. When we arrived, we noticed the lobby and hallway floors were unvaccumed and filthy. Litter lined the floors in the hallways, including shreds of plastic bags and other items. Our room was disgusting. Not only was the furniture and carpeting soiled and unvaccumed, but there were stains on the furniture, the duvet covers, etc., and there were actially drops of urine on the toilet seat. Yes. Urine. We complained at the front desk. Fortunately, the night manager handled the situation well, and offered us two other rooms in place of our original, filthy suite. These were cleanER. Not clean. Merely "Cleaner". But we were exhausted and had a big job the next day, and there was no urine on the toilet seat, so we accepted the different rooms. Within a short time, however, it became clear that the replacement rooms, 323 and 326, were nearly as grimy as 244. There was water damage in the ceiling, mold on the bathroom ceiling, the popcorn ceiling outside the air ducts was stained from unclean air blowing out of the vents. The carpets were still not vaccumed, the chairs had multiple mystery stains on them. When we pulled out a blacklight, we found suspicious droplets on the TV stand in front of the TV (I don't want to know how that happened), and we didn't even try to guess what was sprayed on the walls around out toilet under our blacklight. We will be complaining bitterly to Hilton Corporate about the condition of this second Homewood Suites. However we thought that users have the right to know what to expect from this filthy place that's in terrible need of cleaning, maintenance, and renewal.
Adequate room. Go elsewhere for breakfast

Rooms are large and clean. Complimentary breakfast was very poor. Little selection and very low quality food. Even the coffee was bad. I checked in and out with the app which wired very well. Including the key on the app.
Quiet and the bed was good, but overpowering scent in room

We stayed at the Homewood Suites in Farmington for 2 nights. Pros: the king suite was large and the bed comfortable (many hotel beds are too hard for us), and it was very quiet there (we were on the courtyard and away from elevators). The location is quite close to WH Center, on Farmington Ave. Cons: Nothing in walking distance, and the cleaning products they use have way too much scent in them--after opening 3 of the 4 windows (one was broken) the smell decreased but it was still offensive. They need to use unscented cleaning products. And the breakfast was not as good as we’ve had at Residence Inns.. The muffins were fresh and good and the coffee OK, but the rest was sad--hard, dry omelets (which were just made--the ones that were out when I arrived looked even worse and had ham and peppers in them). The scrambled eggs the first day were also dry. No waffle maker, and a poor cereal selection.
One good experience, one not so good

We used this hotel for one night stays on two successive Mondays. I have a profile requesting top floor, away from elevator. First night we were placed in second floor (three floor hotel) behind elevator, which we heard operating all night. Our bed wasn't very comfortable and the shower head couldn't be adjusted. The second stay was much better. We were on the top floor and two rooms away from elevator. The bed was comfortable and the shower head worked nicely. This is an older Homewood Suites hotel with the larger suites. Thankful for the simple breakfast provided which includes some hot items. We'll stay here again, but never accept room 227, behind elevator again.
