Please reconsider booking here until they respect all of their guests, especially those who are only 10 have autism!

Reviewed 20 january, 2022

I will try to keep this short, if you are reading this and have experienced similar treatment, please write a review and follow steps towards ending this kind of ignorant cruel situation. We recently stayed here for a total 2 1/2 days. We = Myself, husband, our 10 year old son, and his service animal. Our 10 year old son does have a "disability", he is moderately effected on the Autism Spectrum. What that means for us is, at times in mostly new places and situations he does get frightened or upset over routine changes, and his outlet is loud outbursts and an extreme stressor can escalate into him biting himself and even hitting himself only, never has he tried to harm anyone or anything, inanimate objects. Naturally, we have been going through this together for some time, about 6 years, and have techniques to help our son get past the stressor and during which we also try to be considerate of others space, and either don't take him places where making a loud noise is absolutely forbidden or we plan "escape" routes ahead of time, so if a meltdown begins, we can quickly and easily help our son to somewhere private. This allows him to let out the emotions he needs to with dignity and hopefully avoid those who stare or worse come over, talk over him, and ask if everything is OK or do we need help? ( Side note, we appreciate the concern, as parents, however, we would appreciate it more if you simply carried on and didn't intensify things, my son maybe nonverbal, but he clearly understands what you are saying, and although this isn't his fault or his choice, he still feels shame and upset when he sees how it affects you. Sorry, for that, despite all the education everywhere about what autism is, there's very little about their behaviors or proper ways for onlookers to respond. Anyways, unfortunately for us, our son had a rough time during this family road trip. Our first night, he had trouble sleeping, an outside door was being used all night. In and out. This left him a bit cranky, by the next night, he began his meltdown about 3 hours after laying down, and it lasted the night. His father and I, unsuccessfully tried every technique we know of to help him, with little to nothing. Well wouldn't you know it, in the wee hours, he finally was just worn out, and had only a few outburst left, when a knock came at the door. Who could it be? Wow! The Police were actually called!!! As my husband opened the door as quietly as possible, we were exhausted and didn't need anymore escalation, neither did our son. So I held my son, who is almost my height, just like a newborn, rocking him in my lap (he lives this), and turned around from the door. As the cop looked inside, probably expecting a murder scene, and seeing me rocking a rather strangely large baby, my husband whispered "autism:. Immediately the policeman, who had his hands on his suspenders, put his hands up, and slowly quietly backed into the hall. He let my husband know if we need anything, let them know, but otherwise they would inform the front desk. Yes the front desk! That we check out or who knows?! When we check in, we always make the front desk aware of my sons disability. We request a room at the end of the hall nearest a fire escape door or usually bottom floor, so to the outside, we know you don't want to hear the commotion, so we kindly set up an escape route to the car. This is just in case he is having a very rough night and you all want sleep, we will leave our comfy beds and sit in our car until the meltdown ends. By day 3 we were all exhausted, this was supposed to be a relaxing short road trip for the family. My husband only had a little work and then we could take some long drives and catch up on some rest. Which seemed to finally be coming true. My son had finally crashed and was snoring when 9 or 10 o'clock came around, sadly check out is at 11. So when the alarm clock didn't go off, we immediately told the maid. we slept in, and would be staying and we were good, aka let us sleep. Thinking this was finally it, we could sleep as long as we want! Then only a few minutes later, knocking, again, it was the maid. Suddenly, she said she had to get into the room TODAY! Never once during previous stays had this happen, we tried pleading our case that he was sleeping, but all we got was a sparky, "I have to be in there by 1:30!" We let our son sleep as long as possible, we didn't on the other hand, since now our plans to stay in and sleep were ruined, and now we needed showers and what not, and had to wake our son right before 1:30. Which for about 5 minutes he was OK, then what we feared began, another meltdown., which ended up lasting another 5 hrs. We ended up waiting for the maid to "clean" the room out in our van. This took about 15 minutes. As we returned to the room, we were not only shocked but became angry. We looked around and the only things done. Our bed linen was changed (had been done by me yesterday) , new towels were hanging, and that's! Not only did the appearance of the floor tell me it wasn't mopped, it wasn't messy at all either, but you'd think after kicking us outside, where it has been freezing, should warrant some kind of real cleaning, and observing the few dog food bits still by her bowl on the floor, meant the floor wasn't swept, or mopped. The bathroom, again, towels changed only, the floor still had a dingy look and the room itself, just smelled bad from check in. I actually take a can of lysol and disinfectant wipes and "clean" every room before my family enters. So I see what places actually clean. Anyways. By now, rather than stay, we had, had it! My son was still screaming in the van, they disturbed him in my opinion to get into the room and look around and see if they had a reason to boot the "noisy" guest. So we took pictures and video of how we left things...and here's why Last night on the way back home we decided to give this place one more chance, so we booked online on the way. Several minutes later my husband got a call informing us, we were no.longer allowed due to the rooms condition lmfao!!! So are you saying we can't stay because your staff doesn't clean well, cause she did that day we left, and did so right before, we didn't hang out, we got our stuff and left soon as she finished. Or are you simply making an ignorant and wrongful accusation about us in order to keep my son from staying? Sorry I am not one to assume anything, but hello, the room was cleaner after we stayed, as I disinfected it and always keep up after my son, though he does little! It's very obvious what's going on and I sincerely hope others cancel their reservations or avoid this place. At least until they have some staff education regarding how to respect guests with disabilities and their families. This is just plain pathetic behavior, it's 2022 people. Not the dark ages! Not to mention, for once put yourself in our shoes, we clearly respected your room, even arranged a way to help our son have his meltdown privately by the room we requested, we couldn't help the weather that night or that our cars battery had died, and it was too cold. Maybe if others also demand this type of treatment stop it will finally sink in to these uneducated hotel staff and even a few owners!

You mean NO QUALITY INN!

Reviewed 14 july, 2021

This hotel has no QUALITY – what a disgrace! -Started with Check-in – there was someone being helped so I was waiting but noticed another employee just standing there & told me if would be a few minutes. I said thanks & waited until the first person was done. As I stepped up another person came in the door & the idle employee rushed up to help him. I grumbled something to the agent helping me & she just scoffed. Check in then went fine & I was assigned to a room on the 3rd floor. -Then the elevator stunk of smoke, musty & getting off on the floor it was overpoweringly disgusting. (Didn’t even think there were still hotels that allowed smoking.) Found my room & the door was very stiff to open but room did not smell & it was relatively clean enough for one night. Other guests I ran into in the hall also made comments about the smell and the doors! -Then a dog was also booked across the hall which is fine but barked quite a bit when first arrived. Why they would put a dog on the 3rd floor vs 1st floor is a mystery. -Then the TV had no guide anywhere & the room phone was broken so a call to the front desk did not work. I ventured downstairs to ask if there was a channel guide to avoid clicking on every channel. I was told NOPE – just keep clicking. -Then I asked about the smoking policy & was told the 3rd floor has smoking rooms. I mentioned how disgusting it was but was just asked if the room smelled & I said it was ok but had I known I would have requested another floor. No comment or offer was given. -Then when I used the sink & closed the stopper, to my dismay there is NO WAY to reopen it. I crawled under the sink & tried opening with a screwdriver & nothing worked so the water stayed. I would have called but the phone did not work & as I was then in my pajamas, I gave up & brushed my teeth in the bathtub. The towels were threadbare & only one decent bath towel. -Then the internet sucks, the password they gave me was incorrect – it had a period at the end but in reality, it did not. But even after I figured that out, I gave up it was so slow. -The microwave was filthy but the fridge worked (small wonder). -Breakfast was a total blah. -& more………… Only good thing is that is right off the exit. Definitely keep driving by this NO-Quality Inn.

Smelled of mildew and mold

Reviewed 29 may, 2021

DONT BOOK HERE - you will only waste your time and money dealing with this Horrible "Quality" ... I literally had to sleep in my car because my health would have been compromised by sleeping in a moldy, mildew-smelling room. The hallways had trash in it, and there were no masks being worn by the front desk concierge. Recent Yelp reviews have been rolling in at 1 stars from other frustrated consumers. Travelocity is struggling to get a refund from the hotel for this reservation since they claim there is no issue. I've spent hours trying to process a refund. The hotel has refused to refund me the stay. Travelocity needs to get their act together and not sell for disgusting "establishments". At least their parking was well lit so I didn't feel too unsafe as I slept in my car.
