I had not believed I was at a Marriott- I only use Marriott hotels when I travel so to see one on unkempt on the outside and super small front desk area with a single elevator and “no pool because the state needs to come inspect it” and phones don’t work and they did apologize from the beginning saying it’s under new management. I can understand that although they changed full price for less than what was expected. My room was super clean and smelling fresh besides some strange adhesive residue in the tub that doesn’t come off in room 303, it was a great stay! Breakfast was excellent- even coming down late there was hot and fresh food being refilled and it tasted wonderful. All staff was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure guests were happy. This place, no matter what it looks like and things not being available - the staff alone are the reason for the high score. After this renovation is done, this hotel will be worth the price as long as they keep the same priceless staff.

Love this hotel when I’m in the area. Great staff nice rooms. Will stay again for sure. Air conditioning had a hard time keeping up with the heat but front desk moved me to another room on a lower floor and took care of the issue. Well done.

We are LOYAL Marriott customers! We often leave positive reviews when pleased with a stay. We travel FREQUENTLY! We hit the bottom of the barrel of Marriott properties today. I can't believe the Marriott name is even associated with this property. Checking in was a big hassle.....many people in line & several of them were complaining about their rooms! We finally got into our room and found that there was no refrigerator! We ALWAYS have & use a refrigerator when traveling! The room is dingy. I feel like we are in a cheap truck stop motel. I would challenge the Marriott Team to spend a night here. I think they would be very unimpressed. We have found that our recent stays at Fairfield Inns to be more and more unremarkable and today this Fairfield Inn is the END of our booking at Fairfield Inns. The outside of the facility was my first tip off....very un-cared for, weedy and lack of any landscaping that would show pride in the building. The lobby area & elevator areas are old & tight and can not accommodate more than just a few people. Our room as I mentioned before is dingy and has the old noisy style of air conditioning. Believe me I will not recommend Fairfield Inn St. Louis Fenton to anyone!

First, the good. The room was clean and the a/c worked. That was the only good thing. The rest was terrible. When we drove up the landscaping was dead. The pool wars covered over. There was a note on the door saying we had to check in at the hotel next door. The person checking us in was pleasant in spite of the fact that she had to endure less than cool temps in her office. Back to our hotel with nobody at the desk in the lobby. The place was terribly rundown and dirty with torn and peeling wallpaper, filthy floors and dented and scratched woodwork. There were a number of persons hanging around a side door smoking cigarettes. This place was NOT worth what we were charged.

Bugs in the bed in the first room, changed rooms twice the second room was not cleaned. The final room the sink did not work and used the bathtub to brush teeth. No compensation for the stay. Will not stay here again
