Lovey hidden gem near to LeMans

We have stayed here before as a stopover on our way further south and after a break of 8 years we came back to find the heart of what it offers remains as before - spectacular building in glorious surroundings with a warm and welcoming hostess. Dinner was fabulous as well!

Calm and tranquility

We felt relaxed after just two nights spent here. Most beautiful settings, the Château, the garden and surrounding land with woods. No TV in the bedroom. Bliss. I would go back again when feeling in need of getting away from busy life.

A genuinely charming Chateau

Gorgeous setting, picture perfect with incredible rooms, delicious food prepared by a most gracious host. If you want to spoil your self this is the place to go - you even feel special at breakfast as you start the day at the large dining table with candles.

Loved this place!

What a beautiful chateau. The entire experience -- from gardens to moot to swimming pool -- just top-rated. Only regret is that we didn't book another night. We also thoroughly enjoyed the evening meal we ordered and breakfast was delightful. Bedroom was very large, bed comfortable. Bathroom was roomy with nice walk-in shower. Loved that we could open the huge windows and look out over the grounds. Just a lovely place to visit.

A one night journey stop over and we didn't want to leave

Reviewed 2 september, 2019

After a long and arduous drive we entered the grounds of the magical Chateau de Vauloge and from that moment every stress was taken away. The Chateau is breath-talking and the welcome from Micol was incredibly warm. Our children 11 and 15 were keen to get into the pool, which was secluded and peaceful, with the aromas of lavender and the kitchen garden behind it. We decided not to eat in as we were unsure of the time we would arrive but Micol recommended local restaurants over a glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast the next morning, served in the magnificent dining room, was full of fresh ingredients and a huge choice, the children really enjoying the beautifully decorated table and fine surroundings. After a walk around the grounds and some more relaxing by the pool, we head off on the rest of our journey. We were at the Chateau for one night, but it was incredibly relaxing and a great stop over to catch the ferry. We all decided we could move in indefinitely!
