Very nice owner
Reviewed 8 September, 2019
We stayed for 3 nights during move-in weekend. I used points and got 2 free nights, which was awesome, because rates were up at that time. The room was very large and had a nice smart tv. The beds were comfy and the the water pressure in shower was good. The owner was very helpful and friendly and even came to our room with a different remote for my son, who had his xbox set up. The hotel is older and our room had a very strong odor of mildew, however it was clean. I believe the smell came from moisture from the air conditioning unit in the wall.

Tired Room, But Value for Money

I arrived late at 11pm and left again at 5am, so I only saw it in the dark, and was only focused on getting some sleep after flying in from Texas and enjoying a tremendous Trans Siberian Orchestra concert that evening.
Due to my United flight into Pittsburgh being 5hrs late I had rung the Manager / Owner to let him know I wouldn't be arriving until 11pm and he was very helpful with this.
On arrival the Manager / Owner had stayed up to book me in and was very friendly & helpful.
I had wanted cheap accommodation as I was only using it for 5hrs sleep; so I wasn't wanting a fancy room. The room I had was tired but very clean. The bed gave a great nights sleep. The bathroom was small but adequate & clean.
After getting to the airport the next morning I was missing my headphones and rang the Manager / Owner to see if I had left them in my room. He wnt and checked for me, which I very much appreciated.
Overall the Rodeway is very clean, a good night's sleep and value for money.

It’s a Rodeway Inn; don’t let the exorbitant game day pricing convince you it’s anything more. It is clean. The bathroom in the room with the Queen bed is miniscule. There’s no closet only a bar in the room to hang your belongings. In our room the heat / AC unit was horribly noisy. You do get a microwave & spacious 'fridge.
The driveway / parking lot is supposed to be one way – enter on the south of the building & drive around to exit on the north. Note: You can only make a right out of the property, not a left.
There are nearby CATA bus stops but we were never able to take advantage of them. We ended up walking to Patee / the Nittany Lion Inn & taking the free campus loop.
There is a cold breakfast in the morning: cereal, yogurt, toast / tiny bagels, fruit, coffee, tea & OJ. It’s not much but it will get you through until you reach your tailgate.
The brightest spot is the owner / manager. He greeted us with a smile and was helpful throughout our stay.
Perfect for football-clean and quiet
Reviewed 6 November, 2018
Only hotel within a decent budget at a very late date on a football weekend. Reviews said it was clean, so we went for it. It was clean. It was quiet. My only negative is that when we checked in, the owner said-here is a bottle of water. Like he couldn't give us two bottles? Extremely minor, but we were both standing there. It was weird. Uber pretty much everywhere from this location.
