Peaceful and Beautiful!
Opinión escrita el 26 de Novembre de 2018
Morrell Ranch is a great destination for peaceful serenity! We stayed in one of the private cabins. It was luxurious, clean and comfortable. Our cabin had a deck opening to a wooded area overlooking one of several lakes at the property. Sitting on the deck in the morning watching wildlife was awesome. Each morning, Amanda (the property manager) brought breakfast to us in a nice picnic basket. The fireplace in our cabin was warm and romantic. The sunsets overlooking the main lake are breathtaking. The ranch has kayaks, canoes and peddle boats to enjoy. Going back to Amanda, her customer service is fantastic! The property owners would do well to keep her happy, as she is a great asset to the property with her cheerful attitude and dedication to making sure guests are taken care of. I highly recommend Morrell Ranch for a peaceful and relaxing get away! The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was that we were unable to access the exercise facilities due to a private event that rented the main lodge, and due to the pool being out of service. WIFI is poor at best, but being unplugged was exactly what we needed for this get away!
Getaway for the weekend

The setting was stunning. However, the prices are way to high for what you get!!! The fireplace In bedroom wasn’t working, spider in shower, the breakfast was Contintential, no hair dryer. We got a banana and left. You have to drive miles to get lunch or dinner unless you bring your own picnic basket. If you want rustic this place is for you. Pigeon poop was a problem. Yard around lodge needed to be mowed. Amanda was very nice and pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were staged nicely. Dirt and gravel roads to get there. Great for Boy Scout outings! However, we got the only king suite in the lodge. The rest in lodge and cabins are queen beds . If you want quiet, peaceful, and rustic this is it. Will I be back? No Will I recommend? I can’t.

This hotel is either under new management and they don't yet understand what people who pay the prices they charge expect or they are on the down slope to closure. It is the only high end hotel in the region we could find so maybe they use this to justify the prices but the service is no where near the cost. AC didn't work and wasn't fixed. Fortunately the weathered turned cold enough that it didn't matter. They told us they had trouble convincing a repair person to take a check. Odd thing to admit to a guest. Housekeeping came once out of four nights. They left the door unlocked. It works off a code rather than with a key so you have to set it to lock when you leave. Still had to ask for toilet paper. Room smelled heavily of dust especially the furniture but flat surfaces were not dusty. Suggests a rushed clean job. Place is very beautiful. When we saw staff they were nice but they are usually not present. No one was around most of the time. Not that we needed our hand held but when there was a need you typically have no one around to handle it. We made the best of it but we will try another, cheaper hotel when we come back to the area.
Wedding at Morrell Ranch
Opinión escrita el 2 de Octubre de 2018
Family wedding Morrell Ranch 9-29-18. While the ranch is a destination with something for everyone, we felt it was somewhat lacking. We had a beautiful room in the main lodge that had nice terrycloth robes but no soap, shampoo or drinking glasses. We never did find any ice. The fireplace remote and wall switch didn't work, so no fire and it was a chilly day. The curtain rings had pulled away from the curtains and they were left hanging. We were supposed to get a lift to the wedding site near the lake, but the golf carts never came. Overall, it was fun to be with family for this event but the Morrell Ranch clearly needs some additional help and better supervision.

I'll start by saying the Morrell Ranch is a beautiful location and we chose it to have a restful getaway. We arrived after dark and the registration process was painful. The receptionist's daughter was playing a video game at the receptionist desk. That would have been fine, but the volume so loud neither myself or the receptionist could hear one another. We were taken to our cabin, and was disappointed to discover that the AC could not keep the cabin cool and the bed had only two low-quality foam pillows. We decided to go to the main lodge to let the cabin cool down and download a movie on Netflix, but after about an hour gave that idea up because the Wi-Fi was too slow. The next morning we unloaded our bikes to take advantage of the biking and trails, but after searching for them for about 45 minutes, an employee told us to use the gravel roads for hiking and biking; there were no biking trails. We canceled our second night. Did I mention that the pool was down for repairs also.
