NIGHTMARE! Worst lodging I have ever experienced! DO NOT STAY!

I had to do a last minute booking, the day before, to stay on a Saturday night, and hotels in the area and in Atlantic City were very expensive! I got a room here one night, king with jetted tub, for a little under two hundred dollars. In my thoughts, I referred to the hotel as a dump before I arrived, as I hardly ever stay at a motel, but was hopeful it wouldn't be that bad, but was also being realistic. IT was WORSE than I could have EVER Imagined.... I had stayed at the Garden Inn a few doors down the previous Saturday while in the area and while it wasn't great, it wasn't that bad, and I would definitely return to stay there.
When I arrived, I had a good first impression, as the parking lot was painted and freshly sealed pavement, looked good! The building itself is in decent shape but could use some paint. Check in was okay, the front door is locked, and you have to be buzzed in. The lady was pretty friendly and efficient, quickly checking me in.
I got room 108, towards the end of the building, and as soon as I entered I almost threw up. The room SMELLED HORRID. It smelled like a mixture of mildew, mold, moisture, and nastiness. I immediately return to the front desk and ask for a different jetted tub room, and was told I got the last one. With no other rooms available, and me not wanting to lose money and go to a different place, I quickly faced the reality I would have to stay. I only brought in a few items to the room, in fear of having my belongings stink, and immediately planned to stay in AC as long as possible and just sleep in room. In AM I practically got dressed in parking lot to minimize exposure in the room.
The front desk lady after I asked for a different room, offered to give me a deodorizer, to help. Of course, I had to wait so she could sell some soda from the lobby convenience store. She goes to housekeeping and returns with a towel and two bottles, one a chemical cleaner, and another the deodorizer. I paid nearly two hundred and am now expected to clean my room...
I get to the room, spray the deodorizer, and it DOESN'T SMELL LIKE ANYTHING. SHE GAVE ME WATER IN A BOTTLE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Thank goodness I had febreeze in my car and I doused the room and it faintly covered the horrid smell. I left, went to eat dinner in my car as I couldn't dare return to that room to eat, and returned after midnight. I decided to try the tub after again dousing the room in Febreeze, as I was feeling daring. The tub itself actually wasn't to bad, it was pretty quiet, and felt nice.
I somehow eventually fell asleep in the horrid smelling room and still have nightmares about the smell a week later. IT smelled so bad I can't believe rooms like this exist. I woke up feeling lousy and sick.
The rest of the room wasn't great either. Only plus was flat screen TV. The fridge was rusty and really old, microwave ancient, carpet was moist, and furniture was old. I wore my shoes entire time in room and slept fully dressed. Pillows were flat but bed was shockingly decently comfortable.
Bathroom was tiny, cheapest soap possible, packets for shampoo, no tissues, and just unpleasant. Missing Iron and iron board was very old with stains. EVERY TOWEL had a stain on it and they were rough.
Check in you don't enter lobby just slip key card into a slot.
I WOULD NEVER EVER STAY HERE AGAIN NOT EVEN FOR FREE. THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST LODGING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. THE SMELL IN THAT ROOM WAS DISGUSTING, If you want a cheaper room in the area try Garden State Inn a few doors down. It was much cleaner, no smell, and has a simple free breakfast. I am sure these owners are trying, as they put fancy new key card readers on doors, but please change carpets and CLEAN YOUR ROOMS. A renovation is seriously needed. By the way, I struggled to enter the room most times, not only due to smell, but also due to key card reader not working well! Icing on the cake.... DO NOT STAY HERE!
Doesn't honor reservations and rates. Don't waste your time.

I tried booking online, found a great rate for a room. Booked the room, and kept getting an error message that my credit card was declined. So I submitted a second credit card, declined. Submitted a THIRD card, declined. I messaged them, and they said they are refusing my reservation because there was an error in the rate. Well gee, thanks. Me thinks if you screw up on the rate price, you should HONOR it anyway. Stay away from this place. From the looks of the reviews, I dodged a bullet anyway.
