More about the hotel
Not the cleanest
I’ve stayed at multiple sleep inns in the past, and I have to say this one left a lot to be desired. I will start out with the perks; the staff there all seemed really friendly and efficient. The location is also great for walking into Gatlinburg and not having to deal with all the traffic. My fiancé and I got a King suite room with the jacuzzi tub and fireplace and the room itself was very spacious and overall comfortable. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room was not great. There was used soap left in the shower, there was dust on the things in the bathroom so it seemed nothing had been wiped down in a while. There was a sticky spot on the carpet where someone must have spilled something, there was someone’s Bobby pin next to the bed and some nail clippings on the floor as well. Then getting into bed we noticed there were a few dried blood spots on the comforter. I am not at all a clean freak or germaphobe, however with being in a pandemic, and even if not, I would expect that a little more care be put into the cleanliness of the room. The building is older and the walls are thin so you can hear all the cars going by and any doors slamming etc. which didn’t bother me too much but is just something to be aware of. Overall our stay was not terrible, it was just not the level I’ve come to expect from rooms at sleep inn.
Great stay on a budget
Beds are comfortable, room was very clean and up-to-date. Front desk staff was friendly. Hotel is a bit of a walk from the main strip, but certainly doable. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.
Good Location, Poor Room Quality and Cleanliness
The hotel location was the only great part of the stay, we walked to the main strip in about 5 minutes. The staff was efficient but not friendly. The room smelled like marijuana when we checked in. The carpet in the hallways and in the room was filthy and ripped and or stained in many areas. Our white socks were black on the bottom just by walking around in the room. The bathroom was clean, however, the water in the shower never got hot and there was no fan. The mattress was just ok and the pillows were small and uncomfortable. The website suggests that there are jacuzzi tubs in the suites, however, the jets in ours did not work. Overall I would not recommend the Sleep Inn and Suites to future travelers, there seem to be some much better options in the areafor the same price.
Decent room in good location , great value
Pretty much as we expected. A nice large room with big jacuzzi tub ( I had a king suite with fireplance and tub). Comfortable bed and bedding. Very friendly desk staff. No issues for us despite COVID. Masks were worn when in the hallways and elevators. I felt safe. Short walk to Old Red and No Way Jose. Great location.
Cleanliness/service lacking
Stayed in this hotel Saturday and Sunday nights Oct 10th and 11 2020 Due to COVID many hotels are reducing amenities, Understandable. In this hotel there is no cleaning service during the stay. Also understandable. However, cleaning in between guests leaves something to be desired. It appears that they only change linens. Surfaces in the bathroom were covered with something. Shower wall was so dirty that we took a photo and showed the desk agent. Nothing was done. Looked like a combination of brown mud and soap scum caked on the wall. Tourist town, so I guess they don't expect repeat business. For sure we will not be back to this hotel when in Gatlinburg next. By the way - no breakfast, not even prepackaged grab and go as others are doing. They do offer coffee and juice but dixie cup size only.
