Great little hotel with an affordable price

Clean, quiet, delicious free hot and cold breakfast, extra helpful staff. Large comfortable room. Indoor pool. It does need some updating but what is there is perfectly functional. We will stay here again.

We decided to go up north for my daughter’s 13th birthday since they had some days off from school. To say this hotel needs updates is an understatement. The bathroom mat had mildew. The counter top like like it was wiped down with dirty water but not clean. It felt sticky. The door in our room had to be slapped shut because it wouldn’t close all the way. It seemed like the lock or door has been tampered with. The beds were so old and uncomfortable. You could feel the springs. Ice machine was broken. Pool was closed and they did not mention it in the website. If they had we would have definitely stayed elsewhere as we aware all looking forward to the pool. Place smelled musky. They had the air turned up in the room upon check in which means they are trying to cover up a smell. Do not stay here. It is not worth the price especially if there is no pool. It’s like the cooperate and the franchise operators doesn’t care and it shows.

Lice

Found lice in my sheets on the 4th night. Took a bag of them, yes I collected a bag of lice, to the desk. They confirmed it was lice and gave me new sheets. I left and asked for a refund. Was told the owner had to do that. It took him a week to contact me, only for him to tell me I could have brought them in and there would be no refund. He also asked what room it was because it hadn't been exterminated yet. So lice thrived for a week after I reported them. There was constantly room trash in the hallway for then entire time I was there. Never saw a cleaning person. The hotel was disgusting and filthy. Owner is awful and couldn't care less. Don't stay here.

THIS PLACE DOESNT EVEN DESERVE 1 *. Disgusting conditions. Awful experience!!! We stayed in room #154 here at Quality Inn - Gaylord on August 7, 2021. There was an very stinky odor right when you entered the building going to your room. We got into our room and it stunk like mildew. The floor was damp when you first entered the carpet area and continued along the bed closest to the bathroom. It was soaked in the corner next to the adjoining room. There were commercial grade blower fans in the hallway down a couple doors. The front desk was no help...there was no other rooms available there or in the area! We slept with our faces under the covers to mask the awful smells!! I called the Choice Hotels customer relations (3 different time of calling and holding 30 mins or longer). I was told each Quality Inn was in charge of their billings/payments. They said they would open a case number to look into the situation for corrective actions. I called back the Gaylord hotel on Monday, August. 09,2021 and asked for a manager on duty. I spoke to a lady (manager) that told me they had a pipe burst two rooms over and didn't know that the water had went to that room. She said she would talk to the owner about a refund ($301.28) and call me back. I have not received a call back from anyone at Quality Inn - Gaylord. I would NOT recommend this location to anyone. Very disappointed in the whole situation. Maybe I should contact the health department next???
