One of the worst experiences ever

I do travel frequently for Business, New Hotel Midi was one of the worst experiences ever had in a hotel. Here is my version of story: We travel every year to Geneva for Business. This time we decided to stay in a new Hotel (3 days). Once we checked in, I realized the Wi-Fi in my room was non properly working. I have waited a couple of hours but the connection was unstable and dropped every 10 seconds. I could not even send a mail. I went to the reception and asked for support from the receptions. I explain my problem with the Wifi, he says the issue is general and nobody can use Whatsapp! (we found out later there was a worldwide shut down of Whatsapp servers) . I thank him and tell him that my Issue is not about WhatsApp but the router of my Room as I cannot even connect to Outlook or Gmail. He seems not to care too much and just dismisses me keep saying AGAIN that it's just a Whatsapp problem and my room has the BEST connection in the whole hotel. He doesn't want to come upstairs to check the situation (no reason explained). His reply clearly had no sense, he left the desk saying that had no time for me but had to go reach Hotel's Customer and I had to wait there (Like I was not a customer). The hotel can become busy, especially if there are several customers doing checking at the same time. I Understand the situation and wait patiently till it gets free again. I ask him again for a solution, as I have to work remotely and cannot work all night in the lobby. He says that if I am not happy with the service, I can ask tomorrow to another person to change the room, but not to him, as he would not do that!! I tell him that there is no problem and I can wait for a night. I thank him and ask who should I talk to the day after. His reply: everybody but me!! I ask his name, in order to tell the next colleague that he was the person who suggested I to change the room, but he refuse to provide his name. He asks me to GO AWAY! At that point, he starts talking with two other customers in French. HE STARTS MAKING FUN OF ME in front of everybody!! At that point, I lose patience and remind him that even though I am Italian, I do understand French and he Cannot belittle me in front of other customers, especially in another language. Without a name, being difficult reaching the Manager, I take a picture of him and leave the hotel for dinner. After two hours I came back with my colleagues, he is there waiting for me: He raises his voice and threatens me to call the police and bring me away!!!!! ( I have 2 witnesses). He is out of control and clearly, there is no way we can talk to him. He clearly racially profiles me by telling me to GO BACK IN MY COUNTRY!!! I remind him that I am a customer, no matter my origin. I also remind him that we are both guests of this country (he is Indian). With all that said, we just decide to cancel the picture as we are tired and just want to go to bed. We will go anyway to talk to the management in the next few days. For three days I am not able to use the Wifi in my room and I am forced to keep the door open in order to have a stable signal!! (in a 4-star hotel)!!! On the last day, I decided to go to the management and share my experience. Here is the REception Manager's reply after I explained the situation: "you took a picture of the man!!" Clearly, she was not even listening to my story and was just waiting to reply to me. Every year we go to Swiss for several days, to attend a local fair exhibition. This is the last time we will go to NEW HOTEL MIDI. I will also talk to our partners and let them know how we were treated by their staff, twice!! This pandemic should have shown more sensitivity toward the customers. I feel there was not respect towards us. My last feeling was that we were just used as a Wallet: Pay and go away!!! Last consideration: Just wondering If we will be reached back by the staff. I will keep you posted.

It was with excitement that we revisited The New Midi, once again the staff were incredibly helpful and courteous, despite it being winter we found the accessibility and ease of moving around fantastic. It really is a little gem

Good location at a high price

The hotel was comfortable, but a little bit old fashion. Everything was clean and the staff were really nice. We chose this hotel because of the very good location, neat the city center, and also because the price was very inviting when compared with others in the same place, still a bit expensive. The breakfast was good, but way too expensive for the variety of products presented. You have a starbucks near by, that is less expensive, and good anyway. In a all it was a enjoyable experience!

Business hotel by the lake, close to restaurants, shopping (including Manor) and public transportation. English speaking attentive staff. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, with remodeled bathrooms, comfy robes and slippers, coffee maker, complimentary coffee and OJ in the lobby, extensive buffet breakfast and several English-speaking TV channels.

Great hotel in central location

Stayed in Geneva for the Laver Cup and this hotel was in perfect walking distance to the train station, about 6-8 minutes. We booked a junior suite, which was spacious, clean, with two bathrooms, several closets, coffee maker and very comfortable beds. Efficient service at check-in and check-out. The hotel has some "artsy" decor which makes it a little different than most hotels, we enjoyed it :-)
