Genoa visit
Hotel is in an excellent location near to Piazza Principe station and an easy walk to the Port Antico. The staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast is very nice. We booked an economy room, which was clean and well equipped but only had a very small double bed, which we did not realise at booking and meant that we did not sleep very well.
Perfect location, friendly service, good price.
My wife and I booked this hotel for its price and location. (Being within walking distance of the train/bus and cruise terminal) we have been pleasantly surprised to learn during our 2 overnight stays, that it also has very friendly staff who were very welcoming and helpful and did a great job of communicating with us, a very generous breakfast and great wifi! Whether you're arriving in Genoa by plane, train or boat, this hotel is a great choice!
Great location, garage and breakfast
This hotel has the essential for the visitor arriving by car - a garage. A bit hard to find, but the location is superb next to the train station and at walking distance from the old town and many restaurants. The personnel is friendly and accommodating, the breakfast is good. We had a small room that didn't allow for much else than sleep in, however that's what we needed the hotel for. Would recommend especially for its location. Driving out of the city from here was easy.
Perfect
The hotel is very well located, just 5 minutes walking to the Aquario di Genova and center. Its is a very nice hotel, quiet, with parking garage just in front. The lady at the reception is a wonderful person, very friendly, very nice, fantastic attitude towards customers. She permitted us to leave out car at the garage until 1-2 pm the next day while we visited Genova. The breakfast is just amazing. I have never seen so many fruit at a hotel breakfast in my whole life ( melon, pineapple, oranges - red and orange- kiwi, banana), prosciitto crudo, brie cheese, wonderful butter, bread milk, jam, croissants, perfect juice, amazing coffee. I will definitely turn back to this hotel. Above all these, there's an amazing black cat dealing with customers at the entrance of the hotel. Such a cute thing :)
One of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had
Husband and I booked an economy double room for one night, merely because hotel's location and available parking. Upon arrival, we found out that we couldn't use parking, as we didn't specifically asked for it when booking ( even though there wasn't an option to do that on booking.com nor there were instructions to write to the property if you need to use a parking as a hotel facility). The room was small, but we didn't have high expectations for the price of 75 EUR. The problem was the size of the double bed! Two of us could hardly fit and by no chance lay down on our backs at the same time. Bed linen was with no cover, meaning that you use the large sheet under the blankets, the sheet during the night doesn't hold still of course, so your skin is in direct contact with blankets (which they, I am certain about that, do not change and wash after every use). Three star hotel should not be like this! Further more, we were looking for glasses, found only two single-use plastic ones and one of them was broken. My husband tried to take a shower in the morning, but he got burned with hot water, as cold water didn't running. He went to the reception desk, they sent a lady to fix it, she came and changed the shower cap showing us that problem was with calcification and saying that we didn't have to worry and that everything was working now. I entered the shower, the cold water was running long enough to adjust the temperature of the water and put the shampoo on my hair and after that I had to rinse myself with that HOT water that I literally cried out loud! At the check out, I told receptionist what happened, she said she was sorry and that she could offer us a discount. We said that we were not doing that for discount, that we wanted us to be heard so what had happened to us wouldn't happen to anyone, she said OK, do what you want to do, I will charge you the full amount. So disappointed they didn't show any willingness to change what was wrong with their service!
