Amazing stay at Wood Hotel

Fantastic experience at the Wood Hotel. Very modern and stylish, friendly staff, cozy rooms (although ours was small), and delicious breakfast. We spent a good amount of time at the bar sampling various unbelievable hand crafted cocktails that were works of art. The food we ordered at the bar was also fantastic. Since there is no pool, you're able to use the pool over at their sister hotel, Casa da Montanha, which is just a block away. My only minor feedback would be that, as a tourist, there wasn't anyone at the hotel (or at Casa da Montanha) that spoke English. But, I found that was pretty much the case in all of Gramado. That doesn't take away from the 5-star experience though. If I go back to Gramado, I'll be staying here again!
An unique contemporary winter cottage

This is an unsposored review. Wood is in the heart of Gramado on a side street a stone from major attractions. Hotel has a blend of urban and cottage concept. All employees wear plaid red shirts open lobby invites guests to interact with artworks. A fireplace and some tangerine-cinnamon aroma is the quintessential welcoming experience. Check in is done immediately without any issues and a glass of sparkling wine is complimentary to all guests (adults) checking in. What makes the hotel very special is their staff. They give tips, advice where to go, where to avoid. Room is great, charcoal Grey meets woodwork, leather bench and a art hanging on the top of my bed. Amenities are of good quality, e.g. Loccitane. Breakfast is a local feast with invitation to the gaucho culture, cuisine with a contemporary twist. Freshly squeezed juices including local peach named butia, green juice, organic coffee and range free eggs are a few treats of Wood. Pastries, cakes, local yogurts and honey are icing on the cake. Every evening they prepare the bed and place a cotton towel at the foot of the bed. They also give two mini chocolate truffles too... Sleep quality and linen are superb. I ate a few times there. Capeletti soup was below average. Pasta was clustered and broth had no taste. Called manager to address. Same for the rice cake balls not so tasteful. Called them and provided constructive feedback. Drinks are very nice Some of the rooms need some maintenance (dented furniture, spots on the walls room 2008) . I called management a few times to replace worn and torn towels. Cleanliness of rooms could be better. After three calls the head of governance took care and assured every spot was clean and neat. ros Extremelly well trained staff ( kudos do Luciana, Say, Dhieny, André, Wendel, Adenilson ) Open Windows, contemporary furniture, cozy ambiance, Cons No rooftop bar. Restaurant food should be better. No management director present to address customer issues.
Hotel wood is chic and modern, with exceptional cuisine

The best hotel in Gramado. The food is outstanding, the service is exceptional. I highly recommend this as the best place to stay in Gramado. The rooms are modern and have the necessary amenities. It is apart of the Casa hotel group, so you get access to the pool, spa and gym.

Amazing experience. This little and very cozy hotel is a jewel. Service is impecable. Food, including breakfast is superb, beyond expectations. Price range is very fair. Worth every penny. If you come to this charming town, make sure you stay at the Wood hotel in Gramado.
Nice small hotel with potential for improvements

This a view of a foreigner with international travel experience (including many locations in Brasil). Wood is a new small, centrally located hotel located on a side street, only a few steps away from the main street in Gramado. It has no own car parking space, but the valet service works good and brings the car in the space of another hotel belonging to the same hotel group. This service works fine, is fast, and costs are R$50 per day. The rooms are not too big, modern, nice decorated and clean. A complimentary minibar, a Nespresso coffee machine, a water boiler for tea, a selection of different nuts and dried fruits round up the nice room offer. The bottle of filtered water for the night would be nicer without that strong chlorine taste. The entertainment system consists of a Smart-TV (with a generic Netflix account already enabled) and a soundbar. This is indeed nice, but it shows up to be at the same time inconvenient since the acoustic isolation between the rooms is poor, which means that one hears the TV programme, music, conversations from the neighbour rooms. Although the TV is connected to the Internet (=IPTV possible everywhere), the TV programmes are limited to only 5 local senders. The wi-fi coverage in the hotel is very good. The utilisation of devices in the room need some instructions. These are sent to the new guest via WhatsApp, unfortunately very delayed after the check-in moment. In our case with a delay of about 45 minutes, and only after I went down to the reception and asked for it (in theory I could have done this using the room internal phone, but the internal extension for the reception was listed nowhere, and it was not the “regular” one, like 0, 1 or 9. These details were described in that famous WhatsApp instructions, which we should have received). Same for the wifi password or the instructions on how to use the multimedia system (select "optical input “ of the soundbar to hear the sound from the TV). The TV itself was found configured wrong for the audio exit…). It was OK for me to fix, but in my opinion a guest should enjoy his stay rather than fix not working technical things. Regarding “technicals" in the room, the bathroom ventilator from a room above/below ours, which was left “on" the whole day, was producing a disturbing and loud whistle in our room. The water pressure of the shower/tap/toilet is set under an acceptable minimum and it’s not adjustable from the room. My personal biggest disappointment is related to the guest and restaurant service in this location. Table reservations process in the own restaurant do not work: despite confirmations for a certain table, this does not work and it leaves the impression that clients coming to the restaurant from outside are privileged over those who stay in the hotel. The situation was the same in another hotel from the same group, the Parador in Cambará do Sul. The Covid distancing rules are generally respected, however with some exceptions (eg. restaurant: guests were seated at the second high table, practically back to back with guests already seated at the first high table). The dishes offer is rather small, some "selection dishes" are not at the quality level as the expectations suggested in the menu. The breakfast offer is very restricted - this is not related to the Covid situation and the table service is rather poor, which means slow (even if there apparently are enough attendants and not many clients) and systematically forgetting to bring items from the order). The few things offered in the self-service buffet are not monitored and refilled - this occurs only on the guest’s request, and with delay... Strange: the “eggs” offer is only omlett - no fried or boiled eggs. Despite different cake slices are present on the self service buffet, bread must be ordered (and is brought 10 or more minutres later than the omlett, which gets cold on its cold plate). The bar menu does not reflect the real offer (eg. craft beers). To conclude: a nice hotel, claiming a top class, with potential for improvements, therefore (and hopefully only for the time being) not the best value for money.
