Lovely six set menu, gluten free!

Reviewed 30 january, 2023

We had the wonderful experience of Sunday lunch on 29th January. My wife has Coeliac disease and therefore needs a gluten free diet. She was told the food would be adapted to be gluten free but not compromised; well it was a delight for the eyes and the taste buds. What talented chef's to produce such food. I cannot recommend the experience enough. The staff are so welcoming. We were made to feel so comfortable and everything produced at our table with great ease. Chris and Lesley Nolan

Exceptional 5 star hotel and 2 Michelin star restaurant

Reviewed 29 january, 2023

Incredible experience from start to finish. We felt thoroughly spoiled by all the staff - apparently there is a ratio of 3 staff members per visitor and it shows. From the welcome glass of champagne when we arrived to the complementary treats in our room - a bottle of champagne, a whole home-made lemon cake and a plate of fruit (boxes were left in the room to encourage us to take home any leftovers! ). We enjoyed a wonderful 7 course tasting menu with portions that were much more generous than other tasting menus I have had. We were given the choice of having the waiter explain each course or simply putting each dish down without explanation - that level of detail is very unusual. Service was impeccable but not at all stuffy or formal. Breakfast was also a treat - full table service rather than a buffet with the most incredible French pastries I have ever eaten and a wonderful spinach omelette with herbs picked from the extensive gardens. After breakfast we were treated to an hour and a half’s tour of the gardens and heard all about the plans to extend the organic gardens and orchards. Although this is part of the Belmond hotel group, Raymond Blanc is clearly very involved and his influence is everywhere. Megan at front of house looked after us from the moment we arrived to when we left and we had a truly wonderful weekend.

Best weekend ever!

Everything was perfect from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone we met including the chefs and the gardeners stopped for a chat. You can really tell when people are happy at their work!

Stunning in every way

Reviewed 26 january, 2023

Absolutely fabulous stay for a special occasion. Totally unique and memorable for so many reasons. We were well looked after from start to finish, the accommodation was stunning as was our dinner and breakfast. It was a very misty day so we were unable to appreciate the true beauty of the gardens but we could well imagine as we wandered around. Some lovely touches along the way too.
