Amazing customer service from the lovely Joanna. She was so kind and went the extra mile to help us above and beyond when we had a problem (not with the hotel). This level of service makes you feel at home and very relaxed. Thank you Joanna, and also Biggi 😁 . Hotel was clean with well equipped rooms and a fantastic shower. V comfortable beds too. Bonus that it is opposite the thermal swimming pool. 42 degrees in one hot tub there!

Tiny rooms, but very clean and tidy. The beds were very comfy! The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming -sometimes that is what makes all the difference! Located close to a really good restaurant (30 seconds away if you walk) and an artists studio that has some amazing wood carvings for sale. If you want to something that is convenient to the airport, Blue Lagoon and Reykavik, this is the place to stay!

We stayed at the Hotel Geo/Hotel Volcano over a very pleasant weekend in Grindavik while hiking nearby. The hotel was very nicely set up --- not fancy, but extremely clean and comfortable. The free buffet breakfast was really nice and surprisingly high quality. We expect to return in order to hike further along the Reykjanes Peninsula.

Like staying in a college dorm room

We were only in town one night so chose this for location. We should have looked harder. Rooms were like college dorms. Windows leaked both water and air - our friend woke up to a puddle. Breakfast buffet was pitiful. But the three different women staffing the reception desk were extraordinary- helpful, warm, competent. Too bad the hotel isn’t better built.

A perfect place to stay!

What a great hotel to stay in for our holiday in Iceland! Every member of staff, from the Manageress, to chefs, to bar staff/waiters were all so happy, attentive and extremely kind and courteous. Our rooms (we stayed on two separate occasions on our Icelandic trip) were spotless, with everything we required. It was great to have a roasting hot shower after returning from the volcano at 3am! We chose to dine in one evening - the quality of our food exceeded our expectations - we will definitely also dine here again when we return next year. Roll on 2022....!
