We have stayed here for more than 5 times. I want to declare that this is the safeties, cleanest, secured, beautiful place to stay in the historic downtown in Guadalajara. I am a good safety manager in California and the food they serve here is safe, delicious, and meets my standards. The employees here are honest, friendly, kind, and helpful. I love Hotel Morales!

Poor customer service

Reviewed 3 january, 2022

We booked a stay here specifically for the pool. Since some hotels were offering reduced services due to the pandemic, we made sure to visit Hotel Morales' online sites prior to our trip to verify that their amenities were available. Their website made no mention of any closures, and their social media page listed the pool as an amenity on posts that promoted stays during the timeframe of our trip. However, upon arrival we discovered--via a note taped on the elevator wall as we went up to our room after check-in--that the pool was closed for maintenance, and had been for about a week. When we spoke to a maintenance person at the pool, he told us that it was not likely that the pool would be available the next day, and that it "might" be available the day after next. We checked out just a couple hours later, after walking the neighborhood and identifying an alternate hotel that had an *available* pool. However, the Hotel Morales' manager insisted that we were not eligible to be refunded for the arrival date due to the 24 hour cancelation policy...never mind that it was impossible to know that their pool was closed until *after* we'd arrived. The most frustrating part of the situation was the lack of professionalism from the on-site manager. They would not take the time to speak with us, thus forcing the desk staff to walk back and forth to the manager's office to have a conversation. They did not acknowledge the inconvenience that we had experienced, nor did they offer any sort of compromise, such as a discount or voucher at the bar or restaurant for our troubles. Little things like that are what set quality properties apart from those that lack customer service; unfortunately, we discovered the hard way that Hotel Morales falls into the latter category.

Hotel Morales Amazing Experience

Reviewed 5 november, 2021

We've been guest at Hotel Morales for the past 7 years, and have always loved the service they make you feel like family, the food at the restaurant is always on point. But the best part of our trips is always our personal tour guide Luis Fernando Cervantes since the first time we were introduced to him, by the concierge Jose Moreno,Luis has always been a great guide very personable attentive to what we wanted to do in Guadalajara or the outskirts has gone out of his way to make us feel safe. We as a family are very Happy with the service Jose Moreno provides every time we are in town and are very grateful to him for introducing us to Luis Fernando Cervantes as I feel safe enough to recommend this Hotel and their services to my daughter and her friends. Always an amazing experience at Hotel Morales which is walking distance to Mercado San Juan De Dios, Centro Joyero, the Cathedral, Teatro Degollado, and Luis has driven us to Tlaquepaque, Tequila, Chapala and Ajijic always enjoyed our trips. If you visit this Hotel please ask for Jose and Luis they will make your stay memorable and want to come back again and again.

Great place & price

We are return customers. Location is not the safest but just be aware of your surrounding and don’t walk around too late. The hotel is really nice and the price reasonable. The customer service is excellent.
