I booked a 2 night spa break through SpaSeekers.com for £370 for myself and my partner, which included 2 treatments per person, breakfast, 2 course meal per person per evening and 2 night hotel stay. Before even arriving at the hotel, I was missed call and emailed to confirm we were attending on the 28th November which we were. They informed me on their system they had us down for 1 night - which was incorrect. After alot of stressing, I had a call back to inform me they had amended this to show the correct dates / length of visit. Before arrival they also rang me to state we had missed our treatments on the 1st date, which we never received confirmation on timings from the hotel spa. Due to this my partner and I had to have separate slots which meant we didn't spend that time together as planned. The second date we were informed our treatments had been cancelled due to the snow and sickness of staff. We were extremely disappointed as this was the reason for the trip. We managed to move this to the morning ( 10am ) of the departure date. This then caused an issue with checking out of the hotel, as this was due to be at 11am and the treatment lasts for 45 mins to 1 hour. My partner asked the reception staff if we could extend our time at no extra cost due to this being the fault of the spa cancelling / moving our treatments. They gave us until 12pm after not being helpful or apologetic in any way. The spa needed a good clean, the steam room had a funny smell like drainage issues. There were leaves which has been walked in from outside and the sauna was very cramp. The hotel room was very small. The bedroom was too small and the bathroom was oddly large and outdated. The bed was very uncomfortable, could feel the springs and squeaked every time you moved. Needs to be updated!! The restaurants evening meal was very limited and LOTS of add ons, to an already expensive weekend. The breakfast was very mediocre - Nothing to write home about. The restaurant and hotel was also very very cold - We had to sit in our coats and scarfs to try get some heat. When we had finished eating, we decided to sit next to the fire and get warm with a nightcap. I paid £17 for 2 Baileys and Tia Maria ( 1 shot of each in each glass ) which was very unexpected and expensive!! Would not recommend this spa or hotel to anyone. Have also requested a refund or compensation for the none stop issues from before even arriving to departing.

This is our second visit here and was free of charge due to an extremely poor first visit. This time round we were pleasantly surprised. The spa was much better than previously with a very pleasant receptionist. The outdoor hot tub was working and the steam room and sauna were clean and tidy. Treatments were also very good. Only a couple of issues. The area around the pool could do with cleaning more often and the changing rooms were a complete mess with towels everywhere as the basket for them was full. Also not many of the lockers work. The room was also much better than previously. It was clean, spacious and had a lovely view of the pond. Overall much improved on our previous visit.

My friend and I had a fantastic day at the Chevin spa and hotel It is the second spa experience and well worth the money, the staff are excellent We were warmly welcomed with towels robe's and slippers Explained how things worked and where to go for our treatment Along with the treatment the pool, hot tub and steam room are available The hotel and spa are in the most beautiful surroundings We had a delicious but not pricey meals in the hotel Again the staff made you think that you were the only customer We felt really special At a time when standards seem to be falling, the staff hotel and spa have kept the standards up and not let them drop Thank you all so very much from Ann and I We are so looking forward to our next spa experience 🥰

My wife and I booked a midweek night here through Living Social, which included an evening meal, a bottle of prosecco and breakfast. Fantastic location at the edge of Chevin Forest and the buildings are log cabin style which we loved. A bit disappointed we had to pay extra (£10 each) to use the spa but booked anyway. Unfortunately this is the worst part of the hotel as the pool is quite small, the indoor jacuzzi is out of order, and appears to have been for a while even though we were told the pump failed earlier! The outdoor jacuzzi needed a good clean and the drains in the steam room need a good clear out as the smell was nasty. Back in the room, which was nice and warm, we relaxed before dinner. The room is quite cosy and could do with freshening up but was clean. Our evening meal was delicious. Not a lot of choice but very tasty and hot. My only grumble is that our chicken dish had no vegetables which we had to order, and pay for, separately. For breakfast, hot food is cooked to order and arrived nice and hot and freshly prepared, and again it was delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would like to compliment the staff. All of those we encountered were very helpful, courteous and polite. This is especially pleasing considering the slating this hotel is getting and the amount of grief these poor people must be getting. We understand the place was probably on its knees following lockdown and is slowly getting it's act together to boost profits etc. At the moment we would not return, but once the place is spruced up and given a damned good clean then we would reconsider.

There aren’t enough words to describe how perfect my wedding day was at the chevin hotel on Sat 20th Nov 21. They could not have done more to help us and make us feel welcome. Marina is an amazing woman and should be greatly appreciated by this hotel. The bar staff on the night and the chefs were also amazing and probably do not get the recognition they deserve so thank you to them. After reading some of the reviews people leave I think they are very quick to judge rather than recognise how hard these people work. Agreed some of the decor and rooms do need updating and the staff did acknowledge that also. But they cannot snap their fingers and have absolutely everything changed and are also unjustly blamed when it is out of their control. We travelled down from Edinburgh and will definitely be looking for the next event here. Thank you to everyone and keep up your great work. Xxx
