Hampton Inn Chicago/Gurnee

I stayed there on a Saturday night because I had a Sunday morning appointment. The young lady at the desk was courteous and attentive. My room was fine. It was quiet, the 6:30AM shower had plenty of hot water and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. My only complaint is that NBC Sports Network wasn't among the TV channels offered :-)

My wife, Sandy, and I spent a three day weekend here, while visiting daughter and her hubby. Warmly greeted as returning guests by Elizabeth Henning and her front desk staff: Misty, Estela, Sherry (sp?), Amber, and the General Manager, Tim Stokely; Laura and Cindy In breakfast area, Dolly and Drew, Elizabeth and several who were helpful and friendly, whose names elude me The facility is well kept, clean and we had a most comfortable king-sized bed in a very pleasant room. Breakfast was varied and tasty- had scrambled eggs each morning along with a variety of breads, waffles, smoothies, yogurt and great coffee. I was very disappointed in the condition of the hotel. I checked in and went to the room, the first thing I noticed were the stains on the sofa, the cushions were worn and drooping. Then the stand that holds the fridge and microwave were broken and torn apart. The fridge handle had so much dirt and crumbs in it, I opened it from the side and the inside was dirty as well as missing a panel that would probably hold drinks. The microwave was honestly just one of the issues. The main concern was the toilet was filthy. I didn't take a photo of the top of it but it literally had fecal stains and a horrible residue all over the top. The night stands had stain rings and sticky stuff on them, toothpaste splatter on the tissue box, gunk all over the light switches, the hallways had trash and spilled drinks everywhere. Not to mention the stained and broken furniture. I took photos and went to show the front desk and they immediately put me in another room. Same issue with the toilet because that was the very first thing I checked and the microwave was filthy, food splatter every where from top to bottom, the inside of the door. I was disgusted. Took more photos, went back to the front and changed rooms again. The third was not as bad as the others but the toilet was still not cleaned. There were urine stains under the seats of 3 rooms that I changed to. I realize the hotel is older but the entire housekeeping staff should be fired. My some of my colleagues were only going to be there 3 days and left today but the 2 of us that remained had to call our company and notify them that we absolutely could not continue to stay there and fortunately we were able to get reservations elsewhere. In the past I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with the Hilton brand. But I can say that your front desk staff were some of the nicest ladies I've ever met and they did everything they could to accommodate to a room that was not quite as bad as the rest as well as offering their apologies. I recieved an email apologizing for the experience several days ago also stating that I would be given 10,000 points for the inconvenience but those points have not been applied to my account.

Room was EXTREMELY drafty which was horrible since it was only 20°for a high...bathroom fan was VERY loud...hot water in the shower was non existent....bed was uncomfortable...pillows were too soft...breakfast was good and the staff were all very friendly

I loved my stay. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, the bed was really comfortable, and the breakfast was delightful! I especially enjoyed the waffles. 😊 I definitely recommend this hotel.
