Camping Respite
After camping for a week the Aspen Suites Hotel in Haines provided a nice evening in with all of the wonderful conveniences that can so easily get taken for granted. The shower was nice and hot, the water pressure was great, the front desk ladies were friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean. Bonus it came with a kitchenette so we were able to make a nice meal and store our supplies in the refrigerator and freezer for our travels the following day. The only thing I think that could use some improving are the pillows for the bed. They were all on the lumpier side. That being said the bed was still a nice and welcome night of sleep and rest!
Kind hearted and courteous Staff
Shaleena Bott was very helpful and kind booking my room and was very caring when I had to cancel due to an accident... just wanted to give a shout out to good people... I would pick that place again👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent accommodations for Haines
The hotel is fairly new and kept clean. We had a queen room with a sofa. The room was large enough to be comfortable. We didn’t feel cramped even with several pieces of luggage. We used the coin laundry at the hotel, and it was fine. They kept coffee and hot water available at the front desk for guests. The hotel is across the street from a grocery store and less than a block away from the Chilkat Bakery & Restaurant. If I were to go to Haines again, I would stay here.
Still good
Even though we can’t post this second review for 3 months, we feel we should as the hotel is worth it. We enjoyed our stay here on the outward leg so it was a natural to stay here on the return. Having stayed in a number of budget motels, the difference with this mid-price hotel was obvious as soon as we walked into reception. The check-in staff were friendly but efficient, and there was absolutely no issue when we requested a room change from ground level front to first-floor rear (we like quiet and to have a window open). Everything else was just as good as we remembered. Great soundproofing between rooms, full well-equipped kitchen, clean roomy and functional bathroom, comfy bed and quality bedding. Wish we could take this hotel with us everywhere we travel.
New build and well led
This was the short term alternative and we were fully convinced. Nice big clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. It’s even very quiet although we had a room heading to the front. Not sure weather there was breakfast but the kitchenette did it’s job.
