My family had three rooms reserved here for a night as a stop over on our way to a cruise out of NOLA. I picked this because of the good ratings, but was extremely disappointed. We arrived late around 1:00 am so we were tired and just wanted to sleep. The room was not very clean. There were medium length dog hairs on the nightstand between the beds and all over the ugly red carpet. It was my mistake that I didnt check that they took animals, but I didnt think there would be animal hairs all in the room. It was gross. Breakfast was nothing special. This is probably the worst Hampton I ever stayed at.

This was a great place to stay for a night. We were heading to Texas and didn’t want to drive any further for the night. There’s not many choices between Meridian and Slidell, LA, so this is a good area to stop in. The rate was affordable and the room was clean. We did digital check in, so we had minimal interaction with the staff. But the few interactions were pleasant. The hotel is easily accessible from I-59 at Exit 65/65B. There’s also a decent number of restaurants in the area. We would definitely stay here again

Hampton Trending In Right Direction With This Location

We were headed back home from a cruise and stopped here for a night in Hattiesburg. This is a combo hotel with a Home 2 Suites and I would encourage this concept. It was modern, clean, and we had a HUGE corner room! We are very Hilton Loyal and lately have been concerned about how "old" some Hamptons are starting to feel but this was crisp and current. The breakfast was just fine for our family fo 4 (including two boys 11 & 15). The location is perfect access to the highway and all the shopping/restaurants in West Hattiesburg. We would stay here again. Nice touches.

Poor Internet service

This Hampton Inn is large and is coupled with a Home 2 Suites in the same building. Check in was fast, and the employees were friendly. My experience was spoiled by poor internet that never really worked. I spoke to the front desk about this issue, and they said that since they switched to AT&T that internet had been spotty. I was never able to use my laptop.

Football weekend

I stayed here for three nights to attend a Southern Miss football game and visit some sorority sisters. I chose the HGI for its location and was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The real star of the hotel is the maintenance man (Jason) who can and does it all. They are lucky to have him. As a Diamond member of Hilton I have always gotten breakfast free. I was given a $10 credit for the $10.95 buffet. Every Hilton property has written off anything over the voucher but one night of the three I was charged .95 cents for breakfast. I’m not one to argue over 95 cents but it was a minor irritation. I would stay here again when I return to Hattiesburg.
