Hotel Samana

Visited this place last year and stayed for two nights for a review meeting (in another hotel) and loved it. Room was very cozy, clean and spacious. Loved the level of bed comfort and amenities provided. Lies on the main street of Hetauda connecting Birgunj and Kathmandu. Food, service and hospitality was great and they have a connecting PUB which was awesome to enjoy. Probably the only PUB in town that attracts youngsters. Good service and food there as well. Probably the best place to stay as solo traveler or with family and friends and everything is just so convenient since it is on walking distance. Slightly pricey than other normal hotel but the quality counts much more than anything else.

We stayed at the hotel for one night en route from Chitwan to Kathmandu. The hotel is in the centre of town but the location was quiet at night. The room itself was large but very dated and the carpet stained. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good. We had booked and paid $70 in advance for a standard room with Hotels.com. This was non-refundable. On arrival at the hotel, the hotel rates were displayed on the counter. The walk in rate for a standard room including tax and converted into dollars was $29. When questioned, the hotel said Hotels.com set the room rate, not the hotel. Hotels.com have subsequently confirmed that this is the case, saying: “ We totally understand about the confusion, and here's the reason why price is lower at the property than Hotels.com. Please be advised, we pre-negotiate certain room rates with hotel suppliers to facilitate the booking of reservations on your behalf. The room rate displayed on the website or confirmation email is a combination of the pre-negotiated room rate for rooms reserved and the facilitation fee retained by Hotels.com to compensate us for our services.”

The food was nice and the room was relatively managed clean and neat. They had a swimming pool and a bar. It was convenient since the movie theater and other stores were nearby. Little choices in Samana for business trip. The hotel is in the city centre, with some parking space. the Service is not bad, but for a singular person, I'll speak about later. The tidiness of the hotel can be inproved. My room's bathroom had a problem: the floor was completeluy covered with water, at the request for a room change the concierge refudes at the beginning. I had to insist to have the change. the restaurant is good.

Rooms are airy with good space and open view. Next to mall so easy to grab stuffs from grocery and enjoy movies. Friendly and caring staff. Very good WiFi . Food served are good and perfect for the price charged. Instant hot shower facility in bathroom during cold weather .
