Excellent location for shopping

Hotel is nice and quiet...It is in an excellent location for shopping... I walked to Westland Mall and a few other places a bit further and I took the bus to another shopping area called Palm Springs Mile...My check-in was fast and easy and my room was clean and spacious for my needs...I have no complaints :)

Ok, but......

The hotel itself is good located and has plenty of parking space. However, a refurbishment is urgently needed specially the toilets. The staff need a improvement too. My room was not ready for us. We were 3 and the sofa bed was not ready for our arrival. After a 9h flight the last thing I wanted is to fix where my daughter will sleep. On the next day I requested some bedding and extra towels in the reception. The receptionist sent a message to someone and said that will be sorted. When I arrived back to my room later that day, nothing was done. Complained to reception and everything was handled to me promptly. Another thing to improve is make sure your staff is comfortable talking English! Most of your front house are fluent in Spanish, nothing against that, but I expect them to have good English and not to be afraid to talk with customer in English. I do understand this hotel is located in a big Hispanic community, however you need to make sure your front house staff do speak English too. Thanks Cristiano Oliveira

Convenient but needs some attention

The hotel was convenient to airport. But really, really needs an overhaul. We signed about 10pm, there were six lights out in the parking lot, which felt unsafe. No security that I noticed. I had to do several loops around lot to find a safe enough spot The shower tiles were broken in places and patched with black, contrasting the white. There was rust/stuff in the shower head. The door to the room had about a 3” gap that let all the light from the hallway in. I put a blanket in front of it to cover the bright light. The linens and beds were comfortable though! On the way out we didn’t have enough time to sit down to eat so the chef offered us a grab and go! That was really nice!

Worst Sustomer Service

The worst customer service staff I have encountered in long time. The two front desk staff named Frank and Diandy were inefficient, unfriendly and unprofessional. I had a reservation through my work, with a dinner to be delivered to my room. I waited more than 2 hours after checking in at around 7 PM without the food. I had to call the two of them 6 times for my dinner, each time one of them would claim it has been delivered, then when I tell them it has been delivered, they would promise to check with the kitchen and call me back, but not once did I ever hear back. Even worse I had to dial the front disk number 7-10 times each time before one of them would answer, and only to blame the other one for not having my food (you talked to him, not me!!!). Finally at 9:30 PM I went down and raised my voice, then Frank went to the back and brought my cold food in a bag. Apparently it had been sitting there for a while while they were lying to me. When I told Frank that they showed very poor professionalism and very poor customer service he couldn’t care less.

Terrible experience.

There were numerous incidents reported at the front desk including: the room door not working, the key cards not working (eventually, they figured out the battery was broken and came to "fix it"), and water temperature issues in the shower. There is incredibly cold weather going on these days, somewhat unprecedented for Miami, which is understandable... but we requested comforters to combat the weather and it is not appropriate that we also have to shower with cold water. After 24 hs of back and forth with the door, compensation was requested. They granted a late check out for the last day... and as we're walking back to the room... door is not working again. The front desk staff is NOT trained to handle these situations, as they ask the guests to email their superiors themselves instead of calling them directly. This is just the most ridiculous thing I've ever experienced in a hotel.. Also, no Airport shuttle. Basically... the worst Holiday Inn experience ever.
