Good Sleep!
We got a king size room and altho it seemed small but very cozy! The bed was super comfy and the room was pretty quiet for being right off the freeway. The shower was good and hot with good water pressure. We travel with our small dog and there was plenty of places to walk her. The room did NOT have carpet and i cannot tell you how happy that makes me! Have you seen hotel carpet?! Ewwwww.....germs galore! The coffee was good, sadly the "breakfast" was very lacking due to covid restrictions so if you want something hot you'll have to go out or do the drive-thru at McDonalds right next door. We drove 1/4 mile to the Tex Mex restaurant down the road for take out for dinner, it is open for dining right now and did have protocol in place.
Good stay
First time staying here, and I will stay again if I'm in the area. Clean room and a huge bathroom. The room was spacious. I really can't think of anything negative outside of finding the road that leads to the property. I recommend staying here to anyone passing through.
Very nice hotel - following safety protocol during COVID
Traveling through Kentucky by car, we stopped for a few days in Shepherdsville (near Louisville) at the Tru by Hilton. We had inquired by phone about their safety protocols and were pleased with what we heard. And, that was exactly what we experienced at the hotel during our stay. We were greeted by the hotel manager, Nicole, who was working the Thanksgiving night detail, and she was so accommodating, taking time to explain what they were doing to make our stay safe. The hotel was immaculate and you could tell they were taking all the right steps. She explained some of the differences we would experience during COVID, including a somewhat scaled back breakfast. We were delighted they were even offering breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed what they offered, understanding the safety guidelines they were following. The room was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of restaurants and stores nearby and the service was consistent. We will visit this location and other Tru hotels in our future travels. Thanks to Nicole and staff on the service they offered.
Weekend trip
The hotel was fantastic. We were only staying one night and were traveling with a pet. I had originally booked with a different Tru location but switched to this one due to it being pet friendly. The hotel was very clean and located about 15 min from everything we wanted to do. We got in about 6am and were extremely tired. We were woken up by housekeeping at 9. Not from them knocking but from how loud the lady was. Her “talking voice” is a yell. She was training new housekeepers and I couldn’t get over how she was yelling down the halls. I can tell you how she trained them to clean rooms bc it was yelled though the second floor (we had a very obvious do not disturb sign on our door). I can also tell you the employees names as she yelled “Stacy” multiple times and even when she was taking breaks. During her smoke break I thought “maybe I can fall back asleep”, which I did but was woken back up as soon as she was done and was back to training. I heard comments about “wonder what they did in here last night” then another room that had a dog and they were all discussing that. I’m not shaming training and conversation but this employee needs to be trained on volume control and importance of customers rest. We are exhausted and have a 9 he drive ahead of us. This isn’t the hotels fault, I don’t hold them accountable for an excessively loud employee, I just hope it’s discussed.
Best Hilton we've ever stayed at.
When we arrived at the TRU Hilton, they couldn't find our reservation in the computer. And there were 2 weddings and no extra rooms available. Thankfully, we had Nate help us to locate the confirmation and we were so relieved. This hotel was spotless and clean with the new Coved 19 regulations. I'm sorry but I don't remember the lady manager's name, but she was awesome! She communicated well with all of her guests and made us feel "at home". Cleaning staff were very friendly and very busy. Because of Covid, the normal breakfast fare was not available. However, they had a really great selection of individually wrapped items for us to eat. Our son lives in Louisville and we will definately be coming back to stay here. WE highly recommend this TRU Hilton Hotel.
