Clean but noisy!
The staff was very friendly at checkin. The room was clean and well laid out. The hallways were freezing...air blowing out of vents. We were on the 2nd floor near the end of the hallway. The door opening and closing to the stairwell was extremely loud. The sound of barking dogs in the morning was not pleasant, and two ladies were walking the halls with dogs. Parking is limited, and no parking for diamond members. We generally have great experiences with Home2Suites, but this one was disappointing.
Clean and Great for family of 5
Hilton Hotels are the best at keeping things safe and clean during Covid. Staff wore masks and kitchen staff created partitions for serving and instructed guests to use gloves for coffee self service. Hand sanitizers were available. TJ at front desk was quick, kind, and helpful. The room is large with a full size refrigerator. Bathroom shower is small but clean and modern. Shampoo and soap dispensers are available. This home2 suites has some wear on the kitchen counter but the rest of the suite is spotless. Home 2 Suites always offer 2 queens and a sofa-bed which is great for a family of 5. My only complaint is that the bedsheets and blankets are thin. Bring throw blankets and extra pillow cases for sofabed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we would stay longer.
Bring some earplugs...
Pretty standard Home2 Suites experience...except for that you can literally hear everything. Your neighbors to your left, right, and above you above for sure! Thank goodness we only stayed here for 2 nights. Also for you dog owners that prefer to stay on the 1st floor by the rear entrance, I don’t recommend you do that here because the lock at the rear entrance is LOUD! It will wake all those in its vicinity up at night. I do not recommend this property. It’s the worst Home2 we have ever stayed at.
Pleasant staff, clean older hotel, walking distance to food
I will start with the only negative we had. Parking!! We are spoiled-most hotels have special spots for diamond members -this does not. Two nights we spent circling the parking lots for a space to park (at one point, I was considering asking the hotel across the way if we could park there). There are spaces all around the building, but they were all filled at night. The staff is pleasant, the room was fine, it’s an older hotel but clean. The housekeeper from Jamaica was a joy! She was always happy and willing to give me whatever I needed with a smile. My husband left her a tip, even though we never had our room cleaned. She is a wonderful employee! The girls at the front desk were always friendly-if it wasn’t for the parking, I would give this hotel five stars, just because of the staff! Staff, to me, makes a place.
3.5 Experience
It's hard to review hotels, or any other establishment for that matter, during these trying times of restrictions. So, I'm not going to touch the continental breakfast bags and mandatory mask use. The hotel is clean and in good condition. We used the pool, which was nice and well kept. My complaint revolves around parking, mainly. There is a good chance that the parking lot may be full. There is only one elevator in the hotel, and it is located at the front of the building where there are only 10-12 spots available (one of them reserved for electric cars). This is not horrible, but I would think that the hotel would have elevators at both ends of the building, especially is parking is so limited at the front of the building where the elevator is located. Also, the mattress in the pullout couch is very uncomfortable. For $200+ per night, comfort shouldn't be a question.
