The HYDE BEACH HOUSE KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING WHEN THEY HIRED PAOLA THE FRONT DESK MANAGER! It’s because of her my stay at the Hyde felt smooth and relaxing! She was super attentive and helped me with any questions I had. If you stay at the Hyde I hope Paola will be working that weekend or week! She’s a rock star and deserves to be named EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR! Thank you Paola, next time I stay at the Hyde I will be booking with tou and not through the private owner on Airbnb. The service from the hotel staff and Paola made my experience feel so much better! Thank you again!

We have just come back from a ten day stay at the Hyde beach house, room 1106 experience from the beginning was very unpleasant. Upon walking into the room, the first thing that caught our eyes was the absolutely disgusting couch which looked like it has been stomped on all over after walking in the mud, it was worse than a $25 motel or fraternity house that has not been cleaned for 10 years. It is unimaginable that in a place that is two years old and the furniture that has only been used for two years could possibly be that dirty. The carpet was also dirty and disgusting. And the room in general did not feel clean. Even the tiled floors had stains. Feeling completely skeeved, we immediately contacted the host hoping for some kind of a normal resolution. It was difficult to get in touch with someone right away, it took time for anyone to reply to us and when they did, they promised to get back to us but they wouldn’t until we would again contact them and remind them of the situation.. Whenever they would get back to us they had no real solutions. The only thing they offered us is to send someone to clean the couch, and If done the correct way would take a couple of days to dry, which was unacceptable because we would not be able to use it. Furthermore, during times of Covid, we were not comfortable with having someone spend a prolonged period of time in our room and why should we have to stay there instead of enjoying our vacation? At no point were the hosts understanding, considerate nor tried to correct the situation, which made it even worse., Instead of enjoying our vacation we had to deal with this on a daily basis. If you’re looking to stay in a clean room this will definitely not be the room for you.

We booked to stay 12/22-12/28. Requested a room AWAY from elevator. Got to room on 19th floor and it was directly across from the elevator. While checking in, the front desk lady was so rude. I signed up for iPrefer which is supposed to allow for a comp room upgrade if available. She should know this by seeing the iPrefer as part of our booking. Instead after asking about it her reply was "it would have been nice if you said that in the beginning!". I couldn't believe it and had to bite my tongue for what I wanted to reply back. After getting to the room and being able to hear the sounds of the elevator as if it were inside the actual room, we called down and asked to be switched. They said they had a corner unit available on the same floor and we could come down and get new keys and switch. No offer of bringing the keys up for us or assisting. We move down to the corner unit only to find the 2nd bedroom didn't have the same # of beds as the orig. unit. So we had to go back down again and then they switched us to a unit on the 8th floor. The elevators are horrific in this building! You have to wait forever. They should have elevators dedicated to certain floors. Nobody in the hotel was enforcing any sort of Covid protocols- they had signs saying masks must be warn and only 4 people at a time in the elevators unless it is part of the same family. The entire week we experienced 10+ people in the elevators and most without masks on. They didn't have enough chairs or towels for the pools. They had plenty of deck space to have more chairs- especially for Christmas week when they knew ahead of time how busy it would be. The room setup was nice but other than that I'd never stay here again. The furniture in the room had stains and looked rather dated as well. The faucet in one of the sinks shot water out sideways, the phones didn't work other than the base unit on speaker. The beach across the street is narrow and gets blocked by the high rise building early afternoon. The area where they have chairs (only allowed 2 free chairs even if you have 5 people in your room!) were on top of one another- not smart with Covid surging!

We arrived at 4:30pm...we weren't able to check in until after 6pm. That evening my son's family was "locked out" of their room with 2 small children for 2 hrs...until 10pm because the lock needed batteries. We booked 3 rooms early for a family vacation and requested the rooms to be on the same floor. That didn't happen. The TV and lights in our bedroom didn't work at all. There was a ton of empty cabinets in the kitchen no bowls minimal utensils...we had to buy our own frying pan. NO housekeeping available. There was no bar/grill open until Wednesday and there was an hour wait for food and even though all the units have kitchens they stop and check your bag to make sure you don't bring anything to eat or drink! The food and drinks were ridiculously over priced and the service was very slow, only 1 person with a long line. The pool had globs of hair floating it. The chairs patio chairs in 2 of the rooms were broken. There was no service to speak of...you are on your own. One elevator was broken for most of the week and if you stay, plan on spending plenty of time waiting for one. Very disappointed. Wifi was terrible.

We are frequent travelers. Last min we had to find a hotel. and I knew nothing about Hyde Beach House. I looked at the reviews and the photos. Let’s just say the photos do not do this hotel justice!!! Wow what a great spot for a hotel. That was just a start to an amazing stay. We were greeted by a friendly staff. Coming off of a horrible year as most of us experienced, this is what we needed. We needed an early check in (as we all do). I was prepared being New Years Eve, that probably wasn’t going to happen. Then surprise over expectation number 2! I get hotel manager Anke. She moved mountains to help us, and got us an early check in so we could get to the Orange Bowl! Who does that on New Years Eve? This is a FIVE STAR HOTEL. We got a spectacular corner room with million dollar view!
