We were attended an event in Topeka, but stayed in Holten. The room was big, much larger than some of the newer Red Roofs. I could reach the sink, it was old style, not a bowl on the vanity, The hotel was clean, everything worked. Owners were very friendly. The location was quiet and peacefully. This will be our Red Roof when come to Topeka.

I lost a headlight and needed to get off the road until daylight. The manager was very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable as any I've had at well over twice the price, and even better than most of them. The facilities appeared to be very well kept, and seemed to be like new construction. I'd absolutely stay there again if I was anywhere nearby.

Worst, dirtiest, oldesnt run down hotel I have ever stayed in

Room was half falling apart, curtains broken, Mold in the tub, mop boards all broken off , fire dector was on a shelf no even hooked up,, Plumbing so bad every time you flushed the toilet it screeched at you then sounded like a 747 was landing on our room, Bed spreads and blankets stained, worn out . Oldest dilapitated building, Web site says "breakfast free" there was NO breakfast, no continental no nothing,, there was broken floors, chairs, carpet rolls and filth where the tables and food were supposed to be. Bugs dead in the tub,,, I just can't even tell how bad it was, and NO refunds were given, we had to stay 4 nights

Comfortable, clean rooms. Much quieter than other local hotels. Friendly owners who went out of their way to help us. Stay here! Dog friendly with a nice grassy area for walking. Great value compares with hotels costing much more. Family owned. The entire main hotel is smoke free with a separate building allowing smokers, far enough away that it never bothered us. Beds were comfortable. Lots of places to eat in Holton. We brought our own food and the rooms have a fridge and microwave.

Nice friendly staff and seemed like a very clean place inside and outside. Quite friendly and helpful staff also. Breakfast on Saturday morning however, was terrible. I chose biscuits and gravy and a hard boiled egg. The biscuit was hard as a rock, the gravy was bland and tasteless so I threw those away. I got a hard-boiled egg also and bit into the middle and had to spit it out. In my opinion it may have been spoiled. The color of the yolk was some thing I'd never seen before. I appreciate their effort in trying to put a weekend breakfast together for travelers but maybe cold cereal would be a better idea. The outside light shining on the building lit up our room quite a bit. Sunday morning coffee in the lobby was cold, wouldn't even melt the powered coffee creamer. All in all, ok to stay but eat somewhere else, IMO
