The perfect place for a Brecon Beacons Holiday

Reviewed 17 july, 2021

We stayed two weeks in Duck Cottage. Everything about the property was exactly as described or better, there was nothing we wanted or could have been improved for us. Rose and Patrick are great hosts and the farm is just delightful with interesting animals and fine views. The bed in Duck Cottage in probably the best we've ever slept in. The location is great for not just the Beacons but that whole area of South Wales too. Brecon is an interesting small town with some nice pubs and places for coffee or a beer. If you visit, go to the Butchers in Crickhowell (about 20 mins away), they have truly fabulous BBQ supplies.

Wonderful B&B with 8 friends

Reviewed 6 july, 2021

As one of a group of 9 ladies visiting for 2 nights to do a sponsored walk in the Beacons this was an ideal base. Beautiful unspoilt secluded farmhouse, we had sole occupancy of the B&B accommodation which was delightful and furnished perfectly with very comfortable beds and en-suites. Rose made us so welcome and provided us with a delicious wholesome breakfast including her homemade honey and apple juice. The garden room was lovely for us all to get together with easy chairs, tv and access to the patio and the gardens were beautiful with wild flowers, a kitchen garden, beehives, chickens, geese, sheep and adorable friendly little dog called Puck who we all wanted to take home. Thank you Rose and family for a wonderful time spent in your beautiful farmhouse.

Peaceful break

Reviewed 14 june, 2021

Stayed in a lovely one bed cottage. There was everything we needed. Very peaceful for our first week away in 15 months. Owners very friendly and helpful. Place was very clean and well equipped. Really sunny little courtyard overlooking fields. Fantastic sun trap. Plenty of parking space. Ideal location for a peaceful break to unwind and recharge.

Thank you

I have stayed in Damson Cottage for 7 weeks whilst working as a key worker in the NHS the cottage is extremely comfortable and cosy I immediately felt at home. The owners have been most accomadating and friendly. The views are amazing and this is certainly somewhere I would return for a break. It has really been home from home and I would recommend to anyone. Thank you so much for helping me out and making my stay most enjoyable. The garden is private and visited by the chickens and Guinea fowl.i think a winter stay here would be lovely with the wood burner. Thank you again

Exactly what we hoped for a countryside stay!

Reviewed 15 september, 2019

This is the kind of place that makes me wish I hadn't doled out 5-star reviews to places not quite as exceptional as Alltybrain. It's also that rare example where the reality is better than the pictures. Rose and Patrick were extremely welcoming hosts, and we enjoyed wandering their property and interacting with the chickens, dogs, cat and especially the guinea fowl. Waking up each morning to the sheep grazing on the pasture was exactly the calming countryside experience we were looking for as we come from a large city. Breakfast each day was varied and excellent. Rose provides much of the produce from her own garden and honey from her beehives. Aside from a hot, cooked breakfast, she also offers yogurt, fruit, and granola so we were well fortified for our hike in the Brecon Beacons. We stayed in the farmhouse, and our room was extremely clean with a very large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend Alltybrain if you are visiting the area.
