Merryland guesthouse

I stayed there in december 2019. I don't see how someone could give this place more than a 1. It was filthy and extremely small. It didn't look like the photo. They don't give refunds although I only stayed there one night. I used Expedia to book here and they won't help you either. They don't care about customer service. I saw a baby roach, there was a used razor and hair in the restroom. The worker had told me the room was clean before. However, the sheets had a stain the door door hinge wasn't even attached which I think is a safety hazard. I really hope they go out of business.

No proper coordination with guest/customers. Bad location. Owner and is not good. They cancelled our booking without giving any notice. Place is crowded. I do not recommend this hotel and suggest to avoid it. It's just the warning for other travelers, so you can avoid a lot of stress and problems! I am not a complainer or a needy person, but I have stayed in a hostels which were more accommodating than this hotel.

The location is good, close to everything and that's a big plus. The building was quieter than the Chungking mansions. Was a hot water in the shower and AC and internet worked fine. The room is very small and not that cleaned, old and falling apart. The shower was stinking because the sewage was going up to the bathroom every night... :( Very cheap but take under consideration all I wrote before you book

I HATE MYSELF FOR BOOKING THIS HOSTEL ONLINE! ACCOMMODATION: We arrived early as expected due to our flight so we were told to return by 1pm and leave our luggage. So we did. upon returning there were a lot of people already waiting to be checked in, so we waited as well. One by One was given a room and when it is our turn already we were directed to a room near the front desk which in our booking voucher, our room supposedly in the 15th floor not in 11th floor. So we did not debated since the "Boss" said it is just the same. Upon entering, in my surprise the room in my voucher is completely different from the actual room. I felt so betrayed. By the way they don not have fixed rate so they will vary always depending on what nationality you are " A big NO NO". In the voucher is says, with cable TV, Fridge, Private Bathroom, Hot and Cold Shower, With bath tub. ALL LIES! NO EVERYTHING AND I WAS STILL INFORMED TO PAY FOR A USELESS ROOM. NO DISCOUNT EVEN IF THEY TRICKED US. So I complained, like where is our freaking private bathroom? why'd you gave us a room with a shared bathroom, we paid for a deluxe room not a standard room. They told me they will transfer us tomorrow and guess what they did not the following day. They said, all rooms are occupied. like what the? Don't you guys give priorities to the guest you gave a wrong room. I've seen a lot of people checking in so there's no reason that they do not have a room for us to transfer or let's say all room are reserved then why not you transfer us to our real room then clean up our previous room and give it to your guest who really paid for a shared bathroom room. I am literally mad. Staff: The so called "Boss" Mumbai, I Think, is really bossy, sometimes okay, sometimes rude. I heard from outside that he shouted to a guest like " If you do not like here then go transfer to another hotel" That attitude will not take you somewhere nice. You should be ashamed for posting wrong details in your hostel. The Filipina assistant doesn't know what she's doing, she cannot decide on her own when we asked something, she's not approachable and unprofessional. The Attendant, I will give him 5 stars for being nice and helpful, I can see his doing his best for his work. he is like the only person who cleans and assist guest and is left sleeping in the living room to guard the desk. I salute you sir , I forgot to ask for his name. PRICE: Good luck when you book here, rates are ridiculously high. You should not expect a lot from this hotel. It's a total SCAM. Booking.com please be aware. LOCATION: Located in Chungking Mansion where a lot of Pakistan people are dominating the entire building, Expect to be grabbed and to be insisted to buy their products. How funny that they can speak my language. MTR station is like 3 mins walk and bus station is like 5 mins walk. WIFI: The only thing that made us stay is their Wifi Connection. It is somehow better than expected. THE WHOLE BUILDING STINKS, Full of dirt and unpleasant trash. Elevators are like waiting forever, can only accommodate 6-7 people per ride. A long line is always present so be sure that when you leave the hostel for a tour you should not forget anything since you need to wait again for the elevator, there's a stairs provided but you will run out of air trying to go up to the 11th floor, Expect that all are RUDE and misleading. I do not recommend this hotel. PLEAS STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY HONGKONG!

There is absolutely nothing merry about Merryland. We had a small, dirty room filled with dust and hairs, the towls had big holes and when we tried to talk to the receptionist about this, we couldn't because he was asleep every time we passed him. The only positive about this place is the location, but as there are many hotels in the building, we would recommend staying in one of the others.
