As Spire Elite my wife and have stayed at multiply Holiday Inns and this one was a disappointment. Our room was very dated with peeling tup paint, missing wall picture w/ hanger still on the wall, trim piece around shower head hanging, beat up connection door. There also was no shampoo for us to use in the morning. At check out I brought the items to the attention of the desk and he tole me we would receive a 5,000 point credit as an apology which we did not receive.

My stay was not long, just for the night, but it was a great experience. I got in around 9:00 pm. I was tired and had an early flight. My check-in was literally less than 2 minutes. My key was ready and the lady was so nice. The room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. It was a 5 minute drive to the airport, so it was a great location. I do not get to Houston much, but I will stay here again.
Quick in & out

I stayed here one night coming from San Antonio to fly out of Hobby. It's literally across the street, I could see a terminal from my window, if there was airplane noise, I didn't hear it. Tanya at the front desk was kind and checked me in quickly, told me about the amenities and sent me on my way. I found a few hairs but the room seemed pretty clean but I wiped it down anyway. The room seemed to be updated but in those updates they always seem to overlook the ceiling. The airport shuttle was just a small minivan and took all of five minutes, if that to get to the airport.
Not the best experience

I’m getting pretty disappointed with Holiday Inn. I love the express and other brands with IHG, but this flagship brand is loosing its luster. This location is really close to the airport and offers a shuttle. The shuttle happens to be a minivan. It took it 30 minutes to arrive even though the hotel is only 0.5 miles away. We had to leave behind people at the airport because 4 filled the van. When the 4 of us arrived at the hotel we waited about 5 minutes for a desk person to show up to check us in. Check in was pretty seedless after that. My room was “updated”. This means they changed out some stuff in the bathroom I guess. The vanity was too big so it basically rubbed up against the toilet. The ventilation wasn’t great. There was some black mold growing on the ceiling. The new floor tiles kept sticking to my feet because the glue wasn’t holding them to the floor. The restaurant and bar were both closed so it was tough finding food. Had to order and it took a while. Not a great experience with a “premium” brand.
Couldn't-Care_Less Customer Service !

When I first thought about posting this review, I thought about starting it by saying it's unfortunate that a respectable business's reputation can come down to one bad attitude employee; but after reading other reviews, I realized that the management tolerates the horrible customer service and would rather spend their time responding to negative reviews than attacking the issue. I stayed at this hotel on the night of April 10,2021 and from the get go I felt unwelcome by the lady at the evening front desk. She didn't make eye contact, you could barely hear her voice, didn't provide adequate information and makes you feel like you're staying there for free. After going through the motions of checking us in, she sent us on our way to a room she hadn't activated the keys to. I went downstairs, waited in line and got the keys activated and went back upstairs to find that the room had only one bed and we had previously requested 2 separate beds. With the kind of attitude she had, I dreaded going back to her but I still did, stood in line again and requested a room change. She did it quickly and this time, she put us in a room that wreaked with a nasty stench of cigarette smoke and mold. At this point, we just surrendered for the night. We still found this smell in our clothes and luggage a couple days later. And to top things over, when I checked my credit card statement a few days later, I found that I was charged twice even though we stayed in one room. A couple we encountered on the elevator were complaining about how she illegibly scribbled the wi-fi password on a card and only offered it after they'd asked for it, something that she didn't even bother to mention to us. It's sad that a hotel is run like this and more so when nothing is done about it.
