The hotel is amazing, a true fairy tale. The staff is sensational, and the girls in the cafe are very friendly. I strongly recommend it to everyone! And Snowbasin is the best esqui resort ever , 10 min driving

Perfect for a Girls Christmas Getaway

The staff was very nice and helpful, the decor was Hallmark beautiful, and it was a great spot for our pre-Christmas girls getaway. The bunk room was also perfect when you want to have an adult slumber party! Ogden and Park City are a short drive away, and when you fly into Salt Lake City, you can stop and visit the Great Salt Lake before heading to the lodge.

Splendor and Relaxation in Huntsville

A friend of mine had stayed here with his wife and suggested that I go for a weekend stay. That I did with a good friend of mine and what a great experince I had. It started from my check in to having a tour of the facilities and all that takes place here. I was told that there would be a star gazing education with Scott at 8:00pm & 9:00pm which I took part of and Scott was fantastic. He pointed out different stars with a lazer pointer to our small group and then we went up into the observatory that the lodge has where we were able to look through one of the telescopes to planets that Scott dialed in for us. The lodge is one of three hotels / lodges in the U.S. that has a observatory. The rooms were very clean and neat with a nice small box shaped like a suitcase with a chocolate in them on my bed. For a weekend getaway or wedding or just a group of friends or family for a reunion this is a one stop shop. They have two amazing Teepees that you can rent for a small powwow with chairs a heater and blankets in both that were made by the same company that made the teepees for the movie Dances with Wolves.

I stay in a lot of hotels, and tend to stay in higher end locations. Compass Rose is undoubtedly one of the best hotel’s I’ve ever stayed at. Everything from cleanliness, comfortable room, access, friendly and helpful staff (that’s and understatement) and a “stand alone” location. Staff went beyond expectations, all of them during our whole stay. Amazing homemade food at the coffee shop located within the hotel. It’s only 25 min drive to Ogden, so well worth the short trip up the canyon drive. Don’t miss this gem and the beautiful town of Huntsville.

Amazing place to relax and check out the leaves. The room was huge, comfortable, and beautiful. The huge park across the street was an added bonus! I would stay again, only longer next time! Well worth the trip.
