The Amfora is about a ten minute (very pretty) walk around the coast path from Hvar town. We (a family of 5 with 12 year old triplet daughters) stayed for three nights in mid/late October. We had originally booked its sister hotel, the Adriana, but got moved as the Adriana was being used for filming ‘Mr Perfect’. The Amfora is HUGE, we were in a wing at the back of the hotel and it took a good ten minutes along hospital like corridors and lifts to reach the pool. We don’t opt for such vast hotels out of choice but there were some advantages. The main one being the water slide in the pools which our daughters loved. Pros - The view from the hotel is stunning - Breakfast buffet has lots of choice - Easy walk to Hvar town - Staff are friendly and attentive - Rooms are in good condition and our suite was comfortable for a family of five Cons - The pool isn’t heated and FREEZING in October - Although a spa is advertised it’s actually at the Adriana Hotel, no one thought to tell me when I booked a massage and I walked around the Amfora for 15 minutes trying to locate it! - My massage was good but at 1000 kuna (over £100) rather over priced
An ok 3 star, maybe?

We stayed here for two days whilst on a tour of Croatia. Good points - the rooms are big and I’d definitely recommend a sea view because the view is stunning - restaurant staff were more than accommodating with our baby for dinner Bad points - the high chairs were always filthy when they arrived - the breakfast buffet was horrific. Stale, food had been sat out for god knows how long it - the cot wasn’t very stable and looked like it might collapse at any point - pool wasn’t heated and ice cold
Amazing location, pool area and views with good food

This hotel gave us the relaxing sun holiday we wanted. We stayed in October at the beginning of the low season so we enjoyed the hotel at its quieter time but still with amazing weather. I've read other reviews for when it's been busy and some of them aren't great but I can thoroughly recommend coming here outside the main summer months of Jul and Aug for peace and quiet. We had a balcony sea view room and I'd highly recommend this as the view is incredible. Wouldn't like to be at the back of the hotel with a wall/road for a view and little or no sun. The room wasn't very big but big enough. The bed is positioned so you're looking out at the view which is nice. The bathroom was new and modern. There were some bits of the room which were rough around the edges with some wear and tear but if you don't look for it you'll not notice it. The Samsung TV allows screen mirroring so you can watch Netflix etc using your phone. The breakfast is OK- not brilliant - but the food served at the bars and room service is really good and you get big portions. Dinner buffet food was good but limited choice (may be more in high season) The hotel is within walking distance to the town centre. Walk along the promenade by the sea to get there - we only realised this path existed after five trips back and forth out the back of the hotel along the road and hilly paths/steps. Although this walk provides nice views! The staff were friendly enough but some seemed like they didn't want to be there. Overall we were very happy and would definitely be back!
Good value for money. Definitely worth a visit

A very good family hotel. Good, clean and modern accommodation, with good facilities. A very good pool area. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the evening buffet meal in the restaurant. Good taste and quality but unfortunately always served cold. If you’re happy to ask the staff to microwave your plate of food, which they’re happy to do, then the food is good.
Its okay, for sleeping

Its okay for a weekend if you are not spending too much time at the hotel. Its a true maze, lots of tiny elevators, and the rooms are okay but not more than that. Be prepared to be showering bent over if you are taller than a child. The balcony offers a nice view though
