The Mr. and I recently stayed three nights in the Hydroussa Hotel. The location was nice and within easy walking distance of the waterfront, restaurants, shopping, little markets, etc. The breakfast was ample and served on the pretty patio. Our room was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. I had to do a little work in our room, from time to time, and found the WiFi worked well. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We appreciated the refrigerator in the room and stocked it with drinks from a nearby market. If in Hydra again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.
Prime location, nice hotel

Hydroussa is at a prime location, near to Hydrta port. The hotel is a renovated old mansion, with a very nice courft yard, serving as a breakfast area as well. Age has started to show at Hydroussa hotel with the wifi not working at the rooms so we had to go to the reception area to work the email and wifi! The beds were not comfortable at all, definetly need changing. The breakfast selection is not so impressive also, especially for drinks, as they did not offer the choice of Decaff coffee and the juices were not fresh. We were dissapoited since we visited the hotel again and booked it straigt away this time.

Coming off the ferry we walked around the busy port up the lane about a kilometer and a half to a beautiful hotel. Lovely place. Very quiet. We were greeted warmly by the owner and showed to our room. Small but very clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the outside courtyard was pleasant with a lot of variety to choose from. Highly recommended.

Arrived to scope for arriving friends' accommodation. Never got as far as enquiring about a booking, as the charmless woman prowling the lobby made us feel most unwelcome as we poked our noses into the rather lovely lounge. (Residents only, we were coldly informed, but no notice to indicate so). No invitation to enquire further so we left. Greeks work the full spectrum of emotion, heavily weighted to warm. But when they do occasionally veer to the other end of the scale, they can be imperiously icy. Maybe it's the surprising contrast that stings.
So so ...

The biggest advantage of the hotel is its location in the miggle of the town just 100m up from the port, restaurants and shops. The rooms are equipped with the minimum of furniture, a bit like in a monastery The bathrooms are modern. The sounds of corridors easily convey into the rooms. The mattresses are very hard ! The 11:00 checkout is very early and the wish for a ater checut was denied. The breakfast was good and the hotel staff does it best in Corona precautions.
