Lovely spot and terrific hosts

Unfortunately we were only able to spend one day here but we truly enjoyed every minute. The lodge is charming, clean, inviting and comfortable. Great views and a warm fireplace served to make our stay an excellent rest amid our chaotic Colorado vacation.

The best-kept secret getaway in Colorado!
Opinión escrita el 13 de decembre de 2022
My wife and I had the most wonderful getaway of our lives at this charming, secluded, and cozy B&B. Andrew and Margaret were delightful hosts and prepared us the most incredible food we’ve ever had at a B&B. The breakfasts were just amazing— truly gourmet with the freshest and most healthful ingredients, presented elegantly and with truly attentive service. We had an add-on romantic dinner that was simply to die for— spectacularly prepared and presented. The location of this lodge was perfect for us, easily within striking distance of Denver, the foothills, and ski areas. Even at 10,500 feet and with snow on the roads, it was quite accessible with our rental minivan. The scenery was simply breathtaking, and our early-December visit featured snow swirling in the air, places to hike and snowshoe (Andrew provided us snowshoes with his compliments), and the magnificent vista of evergreen forests and snow-capped peaks. Finally, the accommodations were very much to our liking— simple, slightly rustic furnishings, a comfortable bed piled high with comforter and pillows, private bath, and lovely decor. The common areas were so warm and cozy (decorated beautifully for Christmas) with wood-burning fireplace. Though there was wi-fi we wanted a true getaway not tied to tech, and didn’t miss it at all with so much to do and see and also just to relax. We loved having coffee early, before breakfast, and Andrew and Margaret always had cookies and other goodies out if the urge to snack struck. We so enjoyed our visit that we have vowed to bring our entire extended family (17 total) for a stay at the Lodge next season. This was an unbelievable find for us, and everything that Andrew and Margaret provide make it an unforgettable experience and a great value as well. We cannot recommend the Lodge highly enough; our friends in Denver we’re unaware of it, and we felt like we stumbled onto a best-kept secret. If you’re looking for the kind of getaway we just described, the Silver Lake Lidge will not disappoint!

Perfect cabin getaway!

This was such a great night that we spent totally unplugged! The property and host were nice and we were prepared a great breakfast the next morning. It happened to snow the "perfect winter wonderland" amount so the views were picturesque. Just what we needed!

Old facility and terrible service
Opinión escrita el 11 de octubre de 2022
Definitely not worth the money; if I could give a zero rating I would. First this B&B is hard to find. Next it is an older facility that is in desperate need of an update. Most of the facility is carpeted of which is worn out and dirty. The room we had was dated and had a musty unpleasant odor to it; the bed had an old mattress which had noticeable worn (indentations) areas and as such it was extremely uncomfortable and made for a restless night. The bathroom was small, cramped, and dirty; the toilet area and bathtub was obviously not sanitized. The bed sheets and comforter had an unpleasant smell which undoubtedly came from the perfumed laundry detergent. The breakfast was served at 9:00 AM which was a bad time for people that are early risers and want to get out exploring early. The breakfast served was ‘terrible’ on all counts along with the service; had to get coffee refills yourself. I do not recommend this lodge; terrible over priced for what you get. From the advertisement we had high expectations and were ‘very’ disappointed. Don't waste your time and money here; do your research and find a better value.

Lovely accommodations, gracious proprietors!

The lodge is beautifully appointed with every thought given to your comfort and low key entertainment. A lovely getaway in stunning surroundings. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet experience, this is it. The breakfast was very good and very filling. In addition, Margaret was a wonderful host. We had made a mistake in our reservations. Fortunately for us, there was an opening at the lodge and Margaret was more than gracious about accommodating our stay at no extra cost. She was so nice and we are more than grateful for her kindness and our fabulous experience.
