Nice Staff - Awful Hotel
Opinión escrita el 11 de Agosto de 2021
First - I'd like to thank Brian and another front desk gal for being awesome and trying to help (or at least saying he would try). They were both friendly. We stayed there after a long trip through Yellowstone with our family. We chose it for location, reviews, and outdoor pool.
When we checked in, we noticed it was very loud - on freeway. We figured it would be okay, though, since we were so tired, and air conditioner could drown out the noise. After the first flush of the toilet in our room it overflowed. (Only went #1) and they promptly relocated us. We were on the freeway side - LOUD.
We decided to ask to be relocated again once we turned on the AC and it began loudly knocking. So we had a truck stop, a freeway, and a very loud (I have a video.) knocking air conditioner. (I'll mention that my husband is a VERY light sleeper, so all of these things were not helpful after driving 1000 miles.)
Brian said he could give us a room around 8 pm hopefully, but that they were booked. We got settled in the mean time and decided to stay. My boys decided to go for a swim. I was very surprised the pool was open as it was so full of algae you couldn't see the bottom! I got in for a minute and stepped on something, but couldn't see it. Gross! I did let the boys swim for a bit, because it was 100 degrees, but I couldn't bring myself to get in. We stayed in our room, and my husband barely slept, so we left at 4:30 am.
I had spoken with Brian and he assured me the manager would contact me and perhaps refund some money. He told me to call him specifically and profusely thanked me for being so patient. Well, I have now called, spoken with Brian, and emailed a detailed email to the company and to the manager. I heard back from the company, and they said it's a franchise and to contact them directly. I emailed the manager, including video of the loud air conditioner and never heard back. Brian said he'd make sure the manager called me. Never heard from them. It was a horrible experience overall, and if you are at all sensitive to noise, even without the A.C. knocking, this is not the hotel for you.
Moving Through for a night.

This hotel was exactly what we needed. A place to stay for the night with close parking and a cart to carry up all our crap. Tracy, the front desk agent was amazing. The secondary booking place I reserved with messed up my reservation and she fixed it all and it didn’t cost me more. We had our dog and she was very comfortable too because we were offered a room on the 1st floor close to a door so we could walk her. It would have gotten full stars but the beds were pretty hard.

Do not stay here.
If zero stars were available, I'd give it zero stars.
The general manager blamed me for problems Red Lion caused.
Please let me start from the beginning.
1. The website said Red Lion had pet friendly rooms. When I called the motel to confirm that it was a pet friendly room, I was assured that it was.
2. I called three times to confirm the room. They could not find my reservation at first. On the third call, they assured me that I was booked.
3. I arrive at the motel tired, distressed, and grieving because of a very, very difficult day/trip. I was not in good shape. Then I was told I did not have a room at all. I was angry. So, after waiting for at least 45 minutes, the front desk worked to get me a room. I appreciated that very much (though none of this should have happened in the first place). I said I had a cat, so I needed a pet friendly room. Only then did they tell me "pet friendly" did not include cats. No one told me it did not mean cats. NO ONE TOLD ME BEFORE THEN. There were no other options in the area, and I live 425 miles away. Who thinks "pet friendly" doesn't mean cats? They MUST be more specific than that!
4. I called the general manager, Tracey Fitzpatrick to try to explain what happened. At first I was calm. She made me wait for hours to speak to her. That was OK, and I was patient while she was understaffed, it seems. But in the meantime, I wrote a review of the property based on my real experience of it. When I tried to talk to her she BLAMED ME. She got angry and said, "Oh, I read your wonderful review. You know, this is my livelihood! You didn't even give me a chance to call you back." I have no idea how reviews work, and I wrote it honestly because I don't want the same thing to happen to someone else. She handled it horribly. To blame a customer for mistakes the motel made is ridiculous. After she blamed me, I lost it, and I'm sorry, anyone would. I started out trying to gently explain, and she escalated it to anger.
NONE of this is OK. NOT A SINGLE THING IS RIGHT HERE. They're calling me the bad guy when they destroyed my night, lied to me about the reservation, did not tell me about the cat policy, and then got angry when I was honest.
What part of this says they are good at what they do? Nothing.
DO NOT STAY HERE.
Clean, comfortable, and convenient

I was scheduled to fly out of the Boise airport early the next day, so after a long day of driving I was hoping this hotel would be conveniently located to the airport. I do not like to drive in the dark, especially in places I am not familiar with. When I arrived, before checking in I took a test run to see how the drive to the rental car return would be. I was easy and only took about 6 minutes.
The hotel is tucked in behind a truck stop. I know that might not sound good, but actually it was very convenient. I was able to fill up the rental car tank and grab some food to take back to my room (Subway, Taco Bell, and Country Pride are located inside the truck stop).
Check-in took longer than expected, as a large youth baseball team had just arrived to check in. However, the front desk staff was working as quickly as possible and all were quite pleasant.
When I finally entered my room (1 king) I was very pleased. The layout was perfect, with a short divider between the bed and the work area. There were plenty of outlets and good seating to do some last minute work on my laptop. It felt like a bright home away from home. My window looked out on the parking lot with the truck parking lot in the distance. It was quiet and I slept great.
In the morning it was an easy drive to the airport to catch my flight. If I ever need to fly out of Boise in the future I would definitely like to stay at this hotel again.

Was approved for a guest and I, but yet still at 6 in the morning after going to the store next door. The very rude and unmannered worker at front desk. Proceed to call and threaten us about a no tolerance policy as if we were jumping around. When asked if we had a complaint just said once again and I quote "this is it I have cameras everywhere and can see everything" as if he was watching my company and I while in the room. Harassment, threats from staff, among other things leaves me ferrous. Never again will I stay at this joke of a hotel.
