Wonderful Couples Trip to Fiji

Reviewed 26 january, 2021

We had an ocean front room with plunge pool. The is an awesome resort that was well worth the ferry trip. The staff were amazing and the full board plan was a great mix of Polynesian and Western fare. The jet ski trip touring other close by islands was a great birthday present for me. Please tour the local village on the neighboring island. It's a great trip into the local culture.

Beautiful Little Paradise

We loved our short stay here, would have loved more time. Beautiful spot for snorkelling and other water activities. Away from the chaotic world, this is an amazingly peaceful spot. They have good bars and a few restaurants as well. Food is a bit expensive but overall it was a great experience.

"Luxury Hotel" I dont think so.

My partner and I had booked 4 nights here. On arrival we were greeted very warmly by the staff. Our room we had booked we thought was on the 'Beechfront' but turns out the Beechfront rooms are behind the Ocean View rooms so we didnt have any view of the sea ,Very disappointing. The room was ok but nothing spectacular, certainly not 5 Star. The grounds around the hotel were maintained well but very basic. We took a look in the Hotel next door The Tokoriki Island Resort and their grounds were superb. We were invited to the beach bar to meet other guests and the manager of The Sheraton. The Beach Bar and surrounding area of the beach was so tatty. I could not believe how the management were happy to meet new guests there. This also was the main beach to the hotel. No loungers just worn round cushions on the sand with umbrellas which had string and rusty hooks in the sand to secure them. A real eyesore. There was another beach which sounded really enchanting 'Hideaway Beach' we took a walk there (a long one at that) only to find it was totally littered with rubbish and nothing to what we had imagined. We spent a lot of money to stay here under the impression it was a 5 Star Hotel. The write up of this hotel certainly sells it , but in reality it is only a 3 Star at the most. The chairs in reception for Staff use were torn and tattered, this is your first impression of a hotel. The staff were great and the food was good, although very overpriced. All in all sadly we were both really disappointed with The Sheraton.

Fantastic getaway

My husband Steven and I had visited the resort for the second time celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were there for eight nights nine days on the 1st of March. The place is breath taking with beautiful beaches amazing reefs straight from the beach to the lovely bures, not to mention the ever so helpful staff. We love this resort as there are plenty of activities to do. We enjoyed aqua aerobics and especially pool volleyball. The staff were half the reason we returned back to the Island. Always helpful and treat you like family. Many thanks to Tom whom always greeted us with a smile and endevoured to attend to our needs. Thanks also to VA, Iva, Esa and Beverly. Kula was also very helpful and pleasant to deal with making check in very effortless. The evenings were always something to look forward to. Having dinner looking over the ocean listening to the angelic voice of Amini he always made the evening enjoyable. Thanking also Vili for making the activities so much fun. Overall a great trip and a beautiful place. We did notice a few things around needing maintenance like the large decking and the pool. In some places it is looking a little tired. The food was fantastic but very pricey. We definitely would recommend this resort as the staff and facilities are all worth it. Thanking you Melisa and Steven

Beautiful place but expensive for extras

We stayed here with our two ten year old grandchildren for 6 nights. We loved every minute of our stay and the children were never bored even though the weather was not always in our favour. Between the pool, the beach and snorkelling they were always busy. We all enjoyed the daily aquarobics and volley ball which was fun for all ages. These activities encouraged guests to mix but there were very few of us staying at this time. The indoor cinema which we had to ourselves, was a great distraction when we needed a break from the sun and sea, as were the table tennis and snooker tables etc. We went on the two hour snorkelling trip, visiting Castaway Island and the coral and fish on that trip were better than around the resort but it was expensive for the two adults and two children. We were also dragged out on the back of jetskis to access the resort reef without a charge. There are few places to walk to on the island other than the short walk over to Hideaway Beach - take reef shoes! Breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety of food available. We generally skipped lunch for cost reasons. Dinner was good and the children enjoyed the kids menu selection; this was enough for our granddaughter but we had to supplement it for the grandson with sides. The main menus was limited and good but not 5 star. All drinks are particularly expensive and the cocktails only average quality. Ice cream at the poolside were prohibitively expensive (3 scoops for 15 dollars and no option for one scoop) so the children missed out. Water Sport staff were available, friendly and informative. Danny our captain on one trip was particularly attentive to our welfare. They even got up before dawn to get us onto a water taxi at 4.30am. All staff were excellent and so helpful. Our house keeper was particularly helpful when our grandaughter was feeling unwell. Villi who organised activities was great and entertaining as a leader and the children adored him. Most of all Mereoni in Reception stood out as she helped get us off the island when our flight home was cancelled and we had to leave during the night. I do hope please that management pass on our appreciation and thanks to her in person.
