Portland Inn

While other hotels are charging double the rate, you can enjoy a great price and excellent service. We checked in and did the "Hotel Impossible Room Check" and this Hotel passed with flying colors. New owners are updating the rooms and offer excellent service. There is no elevator, so please request 1st level room if you require handicap access or have heavy bags. (The owner was happy to help us to the 2nd floor with our bags, just be aware there is no elevator) It's an older hotel, but new owners are doing an excellent job of bringing the hotel up to date. Give it a try, you and your wallet will be glad you did!😁

While the check in was good and the room was a good size. The cable box did not work when we went in but the staff was pretty quick to respond even at 1130pm. Shower was a little moldy around the shower head in room 207

Staff was quick to respond to any issues. People hanging out in the lobby for hours - don't know if they were staying there or not. Made me uncomfortable. Bathroom not clean - other people's hair behind the bathroom door. Ick!

This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had! The room reeked of smoke, had stained carpeting AND bedding, mold in the bathroom, dirty shower curtain and towels, cracks in the walls, you name it. The worst part is the desk was not monitored, and when I asked to leave a key for my boyfriend, they just left it on the desk with our room number so anyone could've walked in, grabbed it and entered our room. In addition to all of this, would not reimburse the cost of the hotel after we refused to stay. Would absolutely NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!

I recently stayed at the Portland Inn for two nights. Room was large and the bed was really nice for sleeping. The new digital TV had the best picture quality of any hotel or motel that I've ever stayed. Shower has excellent with plenty of hot water. Room was very clean and modern. About a week later, my plans changed and needed a place to stay at the last minute. Again the Portland Inn was there from me. The rates were very reasonable too! No breakfast was offered, but at the low price, it's still a great deal for anyone needing a room in Portland, Indiana.
